Props to Hishon for handling it so well. I'm rooting for the guy. Also why even bother him on Twitter? Seriously what was all that about. Pretty sure Papa O'Reilly didn't need to say all that. Anyone else get that kind of creepy vibe about Papa O'Reilly?

New Goal for the 13-14 season:

Hishon makes the team and scores more points than RO'R.

Yeah, I know, he's not making the team, but it would be

yessss no wonder we had problems with ROR. Seriously, I'm starting to think the blame wasn't on management..

Both sides bore some responsibility, but this is way more on Papa O'Reilly than some wished to believe.

Not this again. We all know you are buddies with ROR, and you will side with him. But if you don't think that there is at least 50% blame on ROR, his clearly unstable father, and RORs agent then you're nuts. There doesn't have to be any links/proof or facts to prove this. When there is a dispute its a 50/50 split on blame, that is just how disputes work.

Huh? Nothing you just said has any basis in actual reality. Number one, you have no idea what happened behind closed doors. Number two, culpability is rarely shared evenly and assigning equal blame for a conflict no matter the facts is asinine.

If we're going to "go there" again, it needs to be kept civil. NO flaming.

What about ROR demanding a higher salary than Duchene? Signing in the KHL for 2 years (trying to strong arm the Avs into a $4m+ deal)? What about how ordeal only came to an end with a ridiculous offersheet? Is that enough to at least put a portion of the blame on ROR?

By no means am I saying that he was necessarily wrong in his demands, and the old management probably had something to do about it.... but so did ROR and his camp.

From an outside perspective and in my worthless opinion, I think more of the blame probably rests ROR simply because the Avs (and all other organizations) rarely have these sorts of contract squabbles. It is rare that a player holds out. With the Avs the last one that I remember was Ozo... correct me if I am wrong there. With other teams we rarely see more than 1 a year, and those are with players like Doughty and Kessel... better players than ROR or a player wants to leave an organization like Turris.

Yet most everyone is quick to blame the Lacroix's for everything and side with ROR.

I think Drury held out for a bit and that precipitated his trade to the Calgary wasteland.

You should probably read up in the O'Ry offer sheet signing thread again. You seem to be quite confused on what transpired and what the "general consensus" was on our forum.

I don't believe that lasted into the season though, but I know it did go into training camp.

It should all be water under the bridge now.

Hopefully, O'Reilly wants to stay with the Avs, and hopefully the next round of negotiations goes a lot smoother.

It takes two to tango. Both are at fault, there is a new management in place and things will move forward.

Back on topic. Glad Hishon stood his ground with ROR's father. Guy seems like a total tool.

Hope he can have a strong year wherever he plays.

^this

I want to repeat what bubba said again and make sure that it's clear . Be sure that the mods on the Avs section won't tolerate rude behavior and personnal attack . We'll be extremely touchy on this subject .

Where does he come off publicly calling out Hishon for not working hard enough?
If you're worried about him not working hard enough, give him a call.
SO unprofessional to do that on Twitter.

The O'Reilly's are being unprofessional?

I'm shocked.
