You're right, AHLLive. $6.99 a game. It's a little steep, but I think I an handle it for tonight. I hope he's fully active and not playing limited minutes.

As a side note, isn't $190 per season a little pricey? I think the MiLB season pass was $20.

that's because MLB has a TV deal, billions in merchandise, and more gate revenue in the past year than the AHL has made in its entire history

Awesome news, congrats to Joey!

Also awesome that Dater just picked up on this (probably from McKenzie) and mentioned it a few hours ago. Imagine all the things going on with prospects and players that Bobby Mac just doesn't have the time to look into for Av fans.

Probably wouldn't have known he was cleared until after he played, if not for McKenzie. Now we have a chance to watch it.

To be a little fair to AD, there is a story, including a couple of quotes from Joey, that he linked on his Twitter.

No it's not much, but in an attempt to be fair, no one had this news except McKenzie, the LE Twitter hasn't even mentioned anything about it even, and AD's job is to cover the Colorado Avalanche, not necessarily the LE Monsters (though on the other hand, I do agree, some more could have been done on this as well)

******** is showing right now that they will have a stream for the game but we will have to wait until game time to see if they actually have it.

You guys should be able to find a decent stream of the game somewhere. It's being televised on Fox Sports Ohio.

A lot of beat writers get pretty territorial. The most he really could have done without stepping on toes is wait for an LEM rep or writer to produce something and then forward it along. I know Washington's beat writers are very careful never to cross the line and report/"break" news about Hershey players, even ones like Orlov who have played with the Caps before.

Dater doesn't break news about the team he's paid to cover, so it's really just more of the same from him.

Hish with his first shift. Looked fairly comfortable and quick, though only got a couple touches on the puck. Won his faceoff after a stoppage though.

He looks like he's afraid to take a hit. I can't blame him, just hope it's a temporary thing.

No one could blame him for that--I'd be scared to death if I had missed nearly two years of hockey because of a concussion and was playing in a game for the first time since recovering.

I would think it's a temporary thing while he gets his legs back. Hope to God there are no setbacks.

Only mildly though. He threw a pretty good hit on a guy with the puck in his own zone, and caused him to turn the puck over to him.

For a guy that hasn't played a game in nearly two year, I haven't seen a great deal of rust on him. He's skating and handling the puck very well, and he's around the puck all the time, still showing some fairly sharpened instincts on where to be on the ice.

I thought Hishon looked decent out there. You can tell there is rust, but as the period went on you could tell he was getting more comfortable.

As a side note: We got a player in Beaupre. Physical, good positioning, solid first pass, and surprisingly a good skater (this has improved tremendously since last year and 2 years ago).

Hishon actually looked solid for a guy who hasn't played in a year and a half.

Beaupre didn't look good.
Lauridsen was 'meh'.

That number #3 for the Monsters looked VERY good and the same with Malone and Sgarbossa.

Physically he did look good, but there were a lot of plays that he could've done the 'smart' move, but instead did the dumb move with blinders. I understand he's a rookie so I am making something out of nothing probably.

True, he doesn't look afraid of contact per se, so that's a decent indication it is temporary.
