I've tried to be less of a passionate oilers fan throughout this road trip, it hurts less if I dont watch every game intently. We need to change up management so badly, its been said on these boards literally millions of times by now. I have barely any hope for this team left, I just dont see us winning anytime soon, and thats just so sad.

This isn't a game of skill anymore.. especially in the western conference.

It's hard work and mucking that wins games. We suck at both.

4-0 chicago.. Their skill guys work hard and their muckers do too

Same here. Pretty sad it's come to that though.

6-0 Chicago.

The only thing that's changed since last game, is Kruegar made it clear losing is ok.

I can't wait to not watch this game and probably not watch the highlights either. Thank goodness for busy Sundays.

Yeah it sure is. At least we were scoring a lot last year and the kids looked great. Now we are just pathetic.

Cue the positive record streak with horcoff back in the lineup compared to him out of the lineup.

I continue to watch the games for some reason. But more due to compulsion than anything else.
this is typical though, hard working bottom feeder teams (aside from Edmonton) tend to put their best efforts forward - that's putting it lightly - against the creme de la creme, just to prove some sort of, any point. Combine that with the absurdity of their streak, how dragged on and difficult it was to do that, it's natural that they haven't looked their best. But they are a beastly club. Truly. When you see them turn things on and get in that groove, they completely dominate, and no one else in the league comes close to them IMO. That 2010 Hawks team was by far, at least in my eyes, the most dominant Stanley Cup winning team post-lockout... they are starting to tap into that again and are well on their way to another championship. I truly expect them to win the Cup this year with little to no interference, honest. Phenomenal team to watch when on their game.

I think Boston is the kind of team that would just crush the Hawks.

I don't really want to watch because it's the Oilers.

...But I want to watch because it's the Hawks.

Right, Khabibulin is what we've been missing. Don't kid yourself. I can count on one hand the amount of National Hockey League wins 40 year old Nik Khabibulin has since 2011.

My only interest in this 'game' is to see if the Oilers can score a goal prior to around the 5 minute mark of the 3rd period. If they can't, then their previous team record of 207:44 without scoring a goal they set in '07 will fall.

It's all about the little victories in life.

For letting in a 'soft' goal

No Jones in the lineup tonight? I missed the last couple games - is he not deserving or playing time?

my comment was a bit hyperbolic perhaps but I honestly believe the Hawks are that good, however I agree with you in the sense that the one team which could give them trouble would be Boston. They look like they're on a mission this year too. To say they would crush the Hawks is, well... I don't agree with that. CHI has speed to burn and I think their top end skill and overall talent is superior to that of Boston's. Would (will?) be a helluva SCF. The league is actually in good shape right now with these big market teams playing so well, not to mention entertaining brands of hockey. PIT, CHI, BOS, LA etc. I enjoy watching these teams. Have to, cuz our poor guys are... just that, so poor, lol.
