Yeah, Ryan Mundy is a big slow safety that will always get there to make the play a step or two late and deliver a personal foul penalty. No loss there.

Yeah, I read that they already brought him in for a physical and then I read this morning that they will be bringing him in for a physical. Some mixed information out there about this. He's worth a shot at the minimum salary though and I think signing here makes sense for him too since the #1 RB spot is wide open. Not that he will win it but still. He has to look for a place with an opportunity to get his value up again.

Beanie Wells the new Bettis (not style but type of acquisition) ....only if this were the 90s and rbs actually meant something in the nfl .

Or the new Duce Staley.

Sounds like Lewis is officially gone. Signed with New Orleans according to his facebook.

Edit: Reportedly a five-year, $26 million contract. $11M guaranteed.

Surprised we couldn't match that.

NFL is passing the Steelers by. The Rooneys, management, coaches, ect.

We sit Lewis on the bench for 3 years, he plays great one year, and he's gone? What is this ****? He and Cortez Allen were primed to be a fantastic duo for years. Ike has 1 maybe 2 more left. YOU NEED TO DEFEND THE PASS GAME!!

We just restructured how many contracts? Released Harrison. Where is this money going? To Larry Foote? So he can block a MLB draft pick for a few years, and then that guy can leave after 1 good year? This cycle SUCKS.

Is Beanie Wells going to be our big acquisition? He's going to be 3rd on the depth chart I assume. Gotta 'learn the playbook' and 'put in your time' before you can ever put your feet on the field. This old school style is BS.

Sorry Ben, idk what the team is doing either. Atleast you got Plex to throw the ball to.

/Rant.

Meh, the Steelers know what they're doing. Lewis was a risky investment because he only had one good year and they had a capable replacement in Allen.

Ben needs to stay healthy and numerous players need to step up. A good draft wouldn't hurt either.

The Steelers had to restructure all of those contracts just to get below the cap.

Former Steelers CB Keenan Lewis reached agreement with Saints on five-year deal with max value of $26.3 million, including $10.5 mil gtd.

The Steelers don't think like that. They think their way is the right way no matter what. They continue to live in the 70's while the rest of the NFL embraces modern day football. Last year I think it finally caught up to them, and doesn't look like it's going to get any better this year.

Yeah that's what happens when you have a team like we had ...matter of time before we needed to start losing players and restructuring just to get under. Got 2 superbowls out of this era. 3rd woulda been nice( see ya Wallace/ mendenhall ) .

I can see where wheelz is coming from though, you gotta change with the times.

Keenan Lewis 5-yr deal with the #Saints worth $26.3M with $10. 5M in guarantees, $6M signing bonus. He will have a base in'13 of $1M

^ That deal would only count $2.2 million against the cap this season. Steelers actually could have afforded that but chose not to or Lewis chose to play at home instead.

Ridiculous that we didn't match that. I thought anything around 5 to 6 million for Lewis was very reasonable, and a damn good deal.

We're going to regret this.

It's still possible they tried to match but Lewis may have preferred to go home if the money were close to the same.

Congrats to my bro @KeenanLewis23 on his new deal.. It's our time

man i remember eating up those articles about how these two were childhood friends, thinking they'd scrimmage across from each other in practice for years and years...such is life in the NFL

I read somewhere that the Steelers didn't even offer Lewis a contract.

Possible but I don't think that was ever confirmed. Just a rumor.

The #Titans were in talks with former #Steelers CB Keenan Lewis before he signed with the #Saints

I think Lewis will struggle in Saints defense. It was worst defense in NFL last season. They don't make any changes except Lewis signing in off-season.

Saints run strictly man coverage... Lewis' only struggles were when we were in pure zone coverage.

Lewis will excel there.

I'm not gonna comment until our draft is done to see exactly where the front office's head is at.

Who knows with our first 2 picks we could take Patterson and Hunter for all we know and just draft LB's and DB's after that. You just never know. Even though I do know that I'm 100% wrong when I say that lol.

I'm just saying I'm not gonna get all aggro over something that maybe the front office couldn't control. I will get mad if I hate our draft though.
