I'd prefer Ryan Swope.

I think with how deep this WR class is I actually think Swope can be had in the 3rd. And I'd love me some Swope.

Say we lose Sanders and get a second 3rd and trade back for a 3rd 3rd.

1st. Hopkins
2nd. Swearinger
3rd. Franklin
3rd. Simon
3rd. Swope/Honey Badger

I know it's not happening but it's fun to fantasize while we still can.
I wouldn't be against moving back and picking up another pick as well. I'd love to get the 49ers 1st and early 2nd picks somehow haha

I haven't seen a lot of Hopkins, but he had a heck of a bowl game.

Worst off-season we've had in a while. Wallace, Lewis, Harrison, Mendy, Colon and possibly Sanders gone. All of our UFA visitors Kellen Davis, Victor Butler, Beanie Wells, Steve Breaston all left their visits without deals. Apparently Wells has a bad knee. The Steelers haven't completely ruled out still signing any of those guys that visited but it's probably unlikely at this point.

Hearing some unconfirmed rumors around the internet that Sanders has signed offer-sheet. We'll see...

Mike Gambardella ‏@BIG3Sports

Getting word that Emmanuel Sanders has signed an offer sheet with the #Patriots. #Steelers will have a chance to match. No $/years yet.

and

Erika Leigh ‏@_ErikaLeigh

Confirmed: Sanders has an offer sheet from the #Patriots, meetings concluded for the day

So I'm assuming the draft pick we would get (assuming the Steelers don't match) is 2014, right?

I'd imagine the pick would have to be 2013 but I could be wrong. Keep in mind those reports are still not confirmed by any of the big time NFL reporters. Those are just a couple reports from New England area media. No idea if they're reliable or just New England versions of Rob Rossi.

I'm really curious about money he signed offer sheet if that's true. I can't imagine it's similar to Amendola's contract. Pats will eventually pay big time to Gronk and Hernandez. Too much for Pats spend on receivers, IMO.

Colbert was right that there would be changes, but I didn't expect everyone out and nobody coming in.

2013 3rd round pick.

Do you honestly think that the Steelers will go into next season without acquiring another WR in the draft or free agency? Emmanuel Sanders is NOTHING SPECIAL, if we sign Steve Breaston, he's an upgrade.

Antonio Brown was a 6th round pick, Wallace and Sanders were 3rd round picks, the Steelers will be fine at wide receiver, damn...

Don't worry! They'll play STILLERS FOOTBALL! Who cares if all those playoff teams threw down field and didn't fret over time of possession, the Stiller way is always the right way!

If the 3rd is this year then I sure hope we don't match it

This way we can pick up both a WR and a RB in the 3rd round now, woot!

#Steelers not be informed that Emmanuel Sanders been presented offer sheet by Patriots let alone signed one. Pats have to notify immediately

^ I guess those NE reports were BS. Who knows.

Dammit, I was already spending that draft pick!

It doesn't make sense for them to sign him though, does it? I mean they just signed Amendola and Donald Jones. How many new WR's do they need? Are they getting rid of Brandon Lloyd or something?

LOL at already spending the pick.

Brady was pissed about the Welker thing so maybe they're trying to pacify him by signing all these WR's. I heard a while back that Lloyd was possibly going to be let go if he doesn't take a pay cut but I'm not sure if that's changed.

I also have to wonder if they would a) sign him to a front-loaded contract after a rather poor season, and b) give up a third-rounder when they probably need that more than Sanders.

Pats bring in Abraham and Adrian Wilson. They also may get a visit from Freeney. They have other needs to fill.

I have my doubts that Pats will make a huge offer to Sanders. They already signed Amendola and Jones.

Heck yeah, Poppa needs a new pair of shoes!

Those are both possible factors, good call on both.

Great questions. Hopefully the factors Captain Hook mentioned will outweigh the ones you listed for my own selfish reasons

Not really crazy about Spaeth. Why the hell we keep bringing back old players?

Don't get too worked up. Probably only a 6-year contract. We can cut him after the 5th season and outsmart the salary cap once again.
