I think Batch will be 3rd string.

Ravens lost Ellerbe, Kruger and Lewis. Anyone think they'll troll the Steelers and sign Harrison?

I would say they'd surely have to look into it.

The thought of Harrison in a Ravens uniform is nauseating. I know he was there briefly early in his career before catching on here but still. It's different now.

It would make a lot of sense for the Ravens though. Harrison is your short-term stopgap and you draft someone to develop in the draft this year.

Two guys I'd love the Steelers to kick the tires on:

Shaun Phillips as a replacement for Harrison

Antoine Winfield as a replacement for Lewis if he walks.

Neither should break the bank, and would be solid 1-2 year stop gaps.

Winfield in particular...history with Tomlin in Minnesota, and while small, he sticks his nose in on run support, a must for Steeler CBs.

He's 35, so that scares me, but if we lose Lewis, I'd rather have him as the 2/3 guy and leave Willie Gay as the 4th...and Curtis Brown/Josh Victorian/DeMarcus Van Dyke in sweats

Charlie batch is basically a qb coach might as well retire and except the postion. Wow the Super Bowl team has been guted, looks like bengals will win the division this year. I hope we sign a rb there's alot of good options out there and I think are other needs can be addressed through the draft. Also if we end up loosing Lewis this offseason things will start to look ugly.

I think it's going to be a couple of tough years for the Steelers. Need some unexpected folks to step up and be huge players.

Why does everyone think the Bengals will win the division?

The Steelers are in the discussion for sure, it will be a tight race but it won't automatically be the Bengals.

Steelers will find a way to win after learning from last year's mistakes.

Because the Ravens and Steelers look like they will be worse next year while the Bengals and Browns are improving (though Cleveland still needs a QB badly)?

Yeah, Browns and Bengals have a ton of cap space. They didn't lose any players so far.

A lot of teams look like they improve in UFA and then suck. Redskins used to win the off-season Super Bowl every year and never did anything.

Raiders released WR Darrius Heyward-Bey. Al Davis is probably rolling over in his grave.

Speed kills baby! He could be our Wallace replacement!

I still loved how the info bar below his name after he got drafted said he was honorable mention ACC that season

I was surprised they also released DB Michael Huff. He was one of the rare consistent performers on a troubling defense.

I'll always be baffled at what established vets in the NFL fetch. A 6th for Boldin? Just seems wrong.

I don't like when people start picking division winners before the draft even starts or free agency ends.

You can fetch big names...that's fine, but a lot of the guys who are real difference makers sit around for a bit, which the guys who get 5 years, 60 million, and 30 guaranteed do nothing. I wish we had more money to spend, as I think there's some really good football players out there who wouldn't break the bank.

Also, a team can get a draft class that has contributors immediately that completely change the dynamic of a team.

Dolphins probably didn't sign Wallace right away because he kept dropping the pen during the contract signing

Haley won't let him because he's more concerned about time of possession rather than scoring.

$13M a year for Wallace is ridiculous. Miami is coming to Pitt this fall. Should be interesting.
Gay will shut him down

Kruger to Cleveland makes a massive amount of sense. Good on them.

Interesting.

I think a change of scenery will do him some good.

I can't ever remember young players being so quick to leave the Steelers.
