"Brian Burke's wizard magic things that made the Sedins happen (1999)"

Nice way of putting it. It was 3 trades but I guess grouping them into one makes it easier.

Also the Trevor Linden for Bertuzzi, McCabe, and 3rd round pick shouldn't be listed. All Mike Milbury trades should be omitted.

Two Sedin's are better than one Naslund.

Toss up between the sedin wizardry or the luongo deal. Ultimately went with the sedins.

Naslund trade for sure. bust for struggling rookie with loads of upside who would go on to be one of the best captains of all time and bring the franchise it's first major award.

Sedins are close 2nd, followed closely by Luongo at 3.

Bryan McCabe played one and a quarter seasons for the Canucks and was then shipped out for a Sedin. So, if you think about it, it was Trevor Linden for Bertuzzi and Henrik Sedin.

But you'd have to fudge the details, to make that one work, so I'd go with the Naslund trade. We got a superstar for a guy who couldn't even hack it in the Central Hockey League.

I think henrik and daniel have had a greater impact then Naslund had. the Naslund trade would be a 2/3 for me.

Naslund trade because the Sedin trades shouldn't be an option.

Yeah, that Alek Stojanov for Markus Naslund trade was pretty good for The Canucks.

The Linden trade for Bert and McCabe. Bert played a big role in Vancouver, and that trade also got them Luo and the Sedins.

Sergio Momesso deserves better than "others", subby.

You're right about lots of good trades, though. I picked the Naslund one, because it's the ultimate something for nothing trade.

They really do have a rock solid trade history. Some of those older ones are pretty wild too. A 2nd for Thomas Gradin? The rights to Craig Janney for Brown, Hedican, Lafayette? Butcher and a washed up Dan Quinn for Courtnall, Ronning, Momesso, others?

We have some monumental blunders, though. E.g. Cam Neely, bazillions of picks for journeymen goalies, Umberger for 11 crappy games of Rucinsky, Bure trade (although that's more on poor management than a bad hockey trade).

Our draft history is quite bad too and that really cancels a lot of the benefits from the good trades.

Wanted so badly to vote for Captain Kirk, but this one is more obvious than anything has ever been obvious. Gotta be Naslund.

Stojanov ended his career prematurely for New Mexico Scorpions after history of injuries.

Prior the trade Naslund had 52 points in 66 games for Pens, Stojanov one assist and 128 PIM for Canucks. They were both 23 years at the time.

It didn't make sense then and it doesn't make sense now.
