Boston for me, I think we match up pretty favorably with them and I'd rather deal with that team in the first round than later once they find a groove and wear others down.

So you want us to finish 8th?
Definitely would love to beat the Flyers or Canes. It's time for payback.
I was thinking Rangers too but I'd also be nervous for them to start clicking, very similar style to us but a lot more talent up front
I say the Rangers because the team is more likely to play their game. Win or lose, I'd rather the first round build the teams confidence in the system. With the leafs and bs there's the chance they forget what got them to the POs in the first place and try to out physical the other team. With the Flyers there's the chance the team breaks out into an all-out offensive shootout. Neither of which leads to something to build on should they win, and increase the chances of losing.
I don't know, I'm more worried about the Sens versus the Habs than those 2 teams.
Bruins and Leafs are more physical than the sens aren't they? I like our chances of winning at hockey over anyone atm if we are healthy. I'm more worried about a draining war in round 1.
Are Karlsson and Spezza gonna be back for the playoffs??
A bit off topic but I was just thinking about the Habs in the playoffs and my heart rate started increasing. I'm so emotionally attached to his team that I'm actually scared for it to be playoff time.
Last year's team I couldn't really connect to. But this years, I feel like the players have finally taken responsibility. Personally first round, I don't want Leafs/Bruins because no matter the standings, history between these franchises always sets up an upset. I think best case scenario would the Flyers-Not enough history to REALLY matter and I think we match up well against them.

I feel like the Sens have the Habs number more than those 2 do, even missing those players. I feel like Maclean seems to know how to counter Therrien's system perfectly, Habs have not looked like themselves againt them. I get the sentiment on the draining war in round 1, I just have a bad feeling about the Sens. So no good real argument at all actually. Haha.

It's true that we have struggled against injury riddled sens squads so I get where you're coming from. Mclean definitely gets the most out of that team. But I feel that if Karlsson and Spezza aren't back, we should be able to beat them, probably.
Though they aren't as good as last year, the Rangers aren't a team I want to face in the first round. They have high-end talent with Gaborik, Richards and Nash and though they lost a lot of two-way ability in losing Anisimov, Prust and Dubinsky...the combo of Lundqvist plus a healthy Staal, Girardi and McDonagh scares me.
Rangers are a team that can easily be under-estimated.
Teams I don't want to face are Sens and Pens. Pens for obvious reason...sens because they always have the Habs number for some reason.
It is frustrating that the two teams we're most likely to face in the first round are Toronto and Ottawa. We have a losing record against both of them. New York or Carolina in the first round would be good, but I can't see it happening.
I think Florida would be nice. The team would be well rested for the second round. Ok really no one knows that, as teams can create surprises in the playoffs, but I feel much more confident seeing the habs playing them than let's say Boston.
