Calgary could get more if they traded both players in separate packages.

Calgary says GTFO
Acquiring Iginla will require more then a late first, a decent prospect, a UFA, and 4th line winger.

You really expect Calgary to also trade Bouwmeester for Kaberle, a 2nd, and Weber?

Thread from yesterday

And Calgary will say no. They don't need Ryder as a rental and don't want Kaberle contract. They have plenty bottom-6 winger so Moen isn't needed. Don't know enough about their prospects to know if Beaulieu and Weber would fit in.

Calgary is at 49 Contracts so no. Pretty terrible stack of players.

That package wouldn't get you one of the players let alone both.

Its equivalent to taking a dump in a bag, tossing a couple of quarters into it and trying to sell that its good value

Beaulieu and the two picks is pretty damn good.

Weber is ok, but he's at best a number 3 defense men down the road.

Beaulieu is a good prospect but if Calgary is prospect fishing and sending those Iginla and Boumeester out then there has to be up front prospects coming back especially at center ice.

I don't disagree, but if he and a low first round pick are what's coming back for Iggy and Bou then its actually a pretty putrid deal for the Flames.

Iggy and Bou should garner a first each and at least a prospect each separately

So while he's a good prospect its not a good deal for Calgary

Where to begin....

Weber and Moen would have little to no value to Calgary.

Kaberle would have negative value/be a compliance buyout favorite at the end of the season.

Ryder's an impending UFA, no reason for Calgary to acquire a rental player if they're selling off Iggy and Bouwmeester.

Beaulieu, the 1st, and to a lesser extent the 2nd have value in this proposal. That's it.

Note: I'm a Habs fan that lives in Calgary, not a Flames fan.

I really don't see how we could make this trade happen without giving up on Eller, 2013 1st, one of our forward prospects (without the two Gally's) and one of Tinordi or Beaulieu at which point it gets a bit too rich for my taste.

TBH, one of the two Calgary players alone could fetch this much. This is pretty much Calgary's core for a first, a decent prospect, a UFA, and spare parts Montreal wants to give away

I'm glad this trade won't go over because I hate Boumeester and for a quarter of a season of Igilna. No thanks.

Calgary would trade them in separate deals to maximize return. Your proposal is weak, and doesn't benefit the Flames.

Agree with this more or less. I would give up a 1st, Leblanc and one of our lesser prospects for Iginla.
Any more and I'd pass.

Iginla will probably go where he wants to go to, I doubt it's about outbidding other teams and more about tendering a fair deal and happening to be the destination of choice for Iginla.

This proposal is garbage. There's no way in hell calgary will
Trade iggy an bouwmeester for a bunch of underachieving 3rd liners . If u really want both it's Gona have to be 2 1 st rounders and 2 bluechip prospect forsure

Ya.. I'll keep Ryder and our picks and prospect thanks. Iggy isn't worth that much to the Habs, regardless of the scraps we throw in. Ryder is younger, more points and is just as much a rental as Iggy would be.

Jbo is also a no go to. He'll handcuff our cap next year.

Calgary will not accept that and Bergevin and the Habs are not trading for Iginla. If the Habs make a move IMO it's going to be for a player that still under contract and can grow with the current core

This.

Iggy is a pure rental. He will perform well for any playoff contender, but the asking price to get him out of Calgary would be too high to Montreal at this point. This team is still trying to build, yes, we are having a good season so far. But that doesn't mean you just go all in and sell off some great youth for 20-40 or so games of Iggy.

a pick + roster player that doesn't figure into future team plans....sure, but not the 1st+top prospect+young roster player offer....that is dangerous
