I've heard them referred to as Pata-Gucci...me I don't get this whole Northface, Patagonia, Mountain Hardware as fashion thing. It's supposed to be functional clothing.

Yeah, but the Northface stuff somehow became super fashion related.

Patagonia to a certain extent too, but for a older, different crowd.

I love REI. Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS) also. I like LL Bean but I don't have any around me and it bothers me to buy an article of clothing that I've only seen in a catalog or online.

It is. But it's about the last easy hole on the course. I walked it during the US Open a few years ago = brutal.

I dont get how. It's decent winter clothing, but there's nothing special or unique about it.

Both the overnight Canadian and American models developed a significant winter storm for NJ for Monday or Tuesday respectively. Given the late date, this will likely be our last shot-on-goal for a decent snowfall. The European model has the same storm too, but keeps it south of NJ.

Price related? Somehow it got into some music related scenes and that's all it really takes I suppose.

It's weird, I run into former players so often in Sweden. I guess it's just such a small country.

Those temperatures you see right now on weather channel, yahoo, accuweather etc... are going to be dropped sometime in the next 48 hours.
It's not going to get above freezing in NJ next Monday or Tuesday.

I've noticed that too. Silly fashion trends too. Look how many kids wear baseball hats 387 sizes too big for their head. Lots of people are lemmings it seems.

I love my puffy northface vest. I'm used to it being -10ish out in the winter so this 20s+ stuff in jersey is nothing. I've worn my vest all winter...

As for the brand, it's good marketing combined with it being a quality product and somehow becoming "hip." I've had my vest and another coat for 4+ year without a single issue. Literally everyone back home will be wearing NorthFace in the winter when you are out and about....

I was looking for shorts to wear at the gym that was nice looking. I like slim stuff and found reeeeally nice stuff on one site. But damn, that was totally a website for gay clothing. And I don't mean it as a figure of speech, it WAS gay clothing. They even sell posters with guys posing half nude with bulging pants. Their clothing is so much cooler though, which is no surprise actually but still that was kinda funny.

Interesting...Most of the Patagonia people I know seem to be young fishing guides. I always thought it was more of East vs West thing. Patagonia seems more popular out west than it does here? I don't know.

April Vokey is one of Patagonia's newest fly fishing Pro Staffers.

Booked my parents a flight out to Jackson at the end of June, early July.. My dad wants to do lots of fly fishing out there. They're staying at the Snow King resort since my mom wants a pool. Ever been there, Jim? Also, any advice you can give me to tell them about Jackson, or Yellowstone or the Tetons, or recommended fly fishing guides, places to eat, things to do, etc. would be appreciated.

I see a BUNCH of higher income Connecticutites in the city wearing Patagonia all the time. That and Barbour jackets.

Where as their kids are all in North Face and the J Crew type stuff.
