Some reports are coming out about this guy. 6'8" undrafted d-man playing Div I NCAA hockey for Nebraska-Omaha. He's putting up some decent points too.

Pierre McGuire wrote in Sports Illustrated that 20 teams are interested.

Anyone know anything about this kid?

Don't miss the boat Murray!!

I'm surprised a 6'8" with apparently some level of NHL potential went undrafted.

Ya I’m not sure maybe he’s like 23 now and wasn’t as good at 18?

Also I’m going to assume he is European by his name so maybe a less scouted area?

I had never heard of him.

edit: 21 years old. as of last week.

Him and Cowen on the same line would be horrifying for forwards. Murray could entice him with his decent record with NCAA players.

We the prospects OTtawa has on D, it might be harder sell to get him over here than it was with Da Costa.

He grew up in Czech, then moved around to "further his hockey career". Perhaps it would have been better if he stayed in Czech.

That doesn't change Cowen, Rundblad, Karlsson, Wiercioch, Boro, Gryba.

They should definitely try and sign him, the more free assets the better, especially how thin Bingo is with the blueline, and our reputation with college players is pretty good.

Take out Cowen and Karlsson, and Rundblad soon.

Hopefully he realizes that Gonchar, Phillips and Kuba won't be with us too much longer. We will need some more D in a few years. Why not start now?

Because he might be able to go to a team that would give him a shot at the NHL sooner than Murray would.
Still the fact that Murray looks like he's in the run for this guy is a good sign. I'm just not overly confident he'll be able to land him.

He's got a quality coach too.

Pat Weircioch plus 4 inches.

Yeah exactly. We have too much depth on the back-end at the moment. He would be a nice addition, though.

Certainly won't be as easy as saying, "come on down, play next year, hell, play a game this year!"....

All depends on the situation, still might be a project...if no one is willing to give him games very soon in the NHL...we still have a decent chance.

Weircioch, Gryba, Boro aren't keeping this guy from playing long term if we think he's deserving of hype.

Wow, just going to go out and say that while size does play a factor in the NHL, people are really going crazy here.

Anyone ever heard of John Scott? 6'8" defenceman, and probably one of the worst players to ever lace up a pair of skates in the NHL.

Not saying this guy won't be good, I'm just saying keep it in your pants.

This guy has already put up much better numbers in college than Scott has. I'm sure he's far from a sure thing in the NHL, but getting a 6'8'' guy with potential is great. If he ever develops he can be a huge asset (literally). He's worth a shot (and getting excited over) even if his chances are small.

Yes, but he's not worth "Give up Lee for him" and would be "horrifying for other forwards".

Doesn't help that it looks like he's a Right Handed Shot, there's no room for him for another year or so, if he's willing to play in Bingo though I'd give him a chance
