Yeah, better hope that Kipper will get the job done because this defense would get exposed against top teams IMO.

But the offense is improved greatly. With that being said, the chemistry might take time to be installed.

They will be very dangerous next year if they can add at least a top 4 defenseman.

Just going to throw that out there.
Ducks don't have an illegal roster. We reworked the trade with the sharks to make us legal.

Thanks man. And would you believe I still have all my draft picks, as well as an extra 1st rounder and Beau Bennett?

We feel the defence is fairly decent, but we've no illusions about them being a top defensive corps. Adding another defenceman will be a core issue for us. And we're pretty sure Kipper can get the job done

The Devils always bring their A game in the playoffs. Marty loves playing against Montreal and will surely bring his vintage play into the nets for us. We've got the experience advantage and we've got the grit needed to succeed in the playoffs, as evidenced by our Cup final run last year. We added Jason Chimera to the 3rd line, and we now feel we have great depth throughout our lineup. Don't underestimate the Devils.

FORWARDS
Alexei Ponikarovsky ($1.800m) / Andrei Loktionov ($0.633m) / Ilya Kovalchuk ($6.667m)
Patrik Elias ($6.000m) / Travis Zajac ($5.750m) / David Clarkson ($2.667m)
Jason Chimera ($1.750m) / Adam Henrique ($0.578m) / Dainius Zubrus ($3.400m)

VOTE LEAFS!!!!

We're up against the big, bad Bruins... and typically, this wouldn't be a pretty sight. We'd get pushed around and wouldn't have the offensive depth to go toe-to-toe with them.

Not this time.

We have the speed, size, and most importantly the skill to go toe to toe with Boston now. We have great offensive depth they can't match, and the Bruins can't put Chara out there for every shift. At some point, one of our three top lines is going to be out there against their bottom pairing, and we're going to make them pay.

Our issue has always been inside the offensive zone against Boston, and we're assembled perhaps the best core of forward depth in the league at the moment. While Boston is a very good team, we are going to keep the puck in their zone a lot longer, and be able to establish our strong cycle game against them.

We acknowledge we don't have a Chara, but we have a more balanced set of defencemen that can play more time on the ice. In goal? Tuukka Rask is unproven in the playoffs, whereas we have brought in a goaltender who has gone all the way and carried his team to the Cup finals.

We feel this is our time, and we are going to be no pushover for Boston.

The Ducks have the RPG line up front, our second line has chemistry as they used to play together as the Sharks number 1 line, our third line has Winik (who has been having a great year) Selanne (the ageless wonder), and Koivu (who has great chemistry with both Winnik and Selanne) and our fourth line is made up of good young players who have been performing great this year( Kyle Palmieri and Bonino have each even had hat tricks this season).

We also have depth on defense and a great goalie pair.

Vote Vancouver vs Anaheim. A deeper defense, better goaltending and depth that can't be matched. Anaheim will be rolling 3 lines come game 2 as their 4th line wont be trusted against lines such as Sedin-Sedin-Burrows, Fleischmann-Ribeiro-Iginla, Higgins-Kesler-Hansen.

Selanne has shown his age this season and his placement on a line that was rolling with a more physically active player in Cogliano could throw it off its groove.

Plus they re-assemebled a San Jose line that was broken up for a reason... the chemistry wasn't apparent after the one big season they had.

We can match their offense, we're more physical, our D is slightly better and our goalie doesn't suck in key situations.

VOTE LEAFS!

We've just knocked off the Bruins, and are walking in against the Pens... a highly talented team, but one that we gave a tough ride this season.

But they are the same team as we've faced before. We, however, are not.

Consider the improvements that we've made:

Nicklas Backstrom > Mikhail Grabovski
Dustin Penner > Nikolai Kulemin
Jaromir Jagr > Clarke MacArthur
Miikka Kiprusoff/James Reimer > James Reimer/Ben Scrivens
Kurtis Foster > Korbinian Holzer

So the Penguins added Kulemin? That's fine... we let him go!

So we are saying that a team we are 1-1-1 against before, we can't beat 4 out of 7 this go around? We're a galvanized team with a huge augment in talent.

We hear M.A Fleury doesn't like traffic... well how is he going to like one of JVR, Penner, or Jagr setting up shot against him?

We respect the Penguins, but the Leafs are a team of destiny.

1967 ends in 2013.

Ducks have a terrific goalie duo

Viktor Fasth 10 wins 1 loss 1 overtime loss
Jonas Hiller 10 wins 2 loss 2 overtime loss

We have a great defensive core and are deep in offense as well.

Dion Phaneuf - Carl Gunnarsson
Cody Franson - Mike Komisarek
Mark Fraser - Kurtis Foster

A defense like that can get you in the conference finals?
Huh.

That defence has maintained a playoff spot all season, not to mention under Carlyle's system and an improvement in Holzer with Foster. Plus the improvements in our forward corps means we have to rely on our defence less by scoring goals and maintaining puck possession.

And if they make a mistake, we have an elite goalie to cover up the mistakse.

Kipper isn't exactly the same goalie this season as he was prior to turning 36 years old.

No doubt; but in a shortened season, with a very, very good team in front of him? He's still an excellent goaltender.

And the Pittsburgh defence?

Orpik - Letang
Martin - Niskanen
Eaton - Engelland

Really that much better?

I don't want to alarm anyone, but the Draft Lottery was suppose to happen an hour and a half ago and Steve Tambellini's frozen severed head that we brought out for this special occasion is starting to thaw...
