It was one poster on the trade board, pretty sure he was a Sabres fan. He might have been angry at the time.

Taking a glance at a more recent trade board thread, some Sabres fans think Stafford will command a mid/late 1st or a skilled young player + 2nd/3rd. Haven't seen any Jets proposals in there yet, I have a feeling they'll be wanting Burmistrov+. No thanks.

They just extended Purcell this past summer, I doubt they'd be looking to deal him.

If Caps were to offer this package after the season

C Marcus Johansson 900k (RFA to be)
D Dmitri Orlov 900k (one more yr on elc)
G Michal Neuvirth 1,150M (RFA to be)
2013 2nd (close to being a frist at the moment)

Would it be enough for Bogosian? I consider it an overpayment, but I'm assuming it would take one to get Bogo.

It would be enough to get him IMO, BUT I really don't think he'll be going anywhere and will resign in Winnipeg long term, and I also don't think McPhee would offer that package either.

I had a conversation with one reasonable Sabres fan that would trade Stafford for our 2nd plus Postma, or a 2nd and a mid pick (like a 4th).

I wouldn't be interested in that at all for Bogosian. Johannson does not interest me at all. He's older than Burmistrov and hasn't done much more. If there are already concerns about Burmistrov, can't see any interest in Johannson. Don't see the reason to get Neuvirth right before he gets a raise as well. What are we going to do with Neuvirth (with a raise) and Pavelec?

No thanks.

If Bogosian was somehow involved, the return would need pieces like 1st round pick(s), Kuznetsov (if he's coming over), Forsberg, Wilson, Orlov (for replacement).

The only way I'm interested in trading Bogosian is if it is for future considerations and a pick, and the future considerations are us taking Bogosian back. (It's actually happened in baseball, minus the pick part)

Heh, interesting. I would definitely do that, IMO we can afford to give up Postma more than we can afford to give up Stuart and/or Cormier.

I think some Sabres fans are overvaluing Stafford, although I could see him netting a return similar to Dustin Penner in 2011. A first, conditional 2nd and an ok prospect (Klingberg?) would be too pricy for me, but I could see a team offering something like that up.

It's literally a pile of all your mid-level value scraps. Those are all pieces that Washington fans don't mind losing.

To cut it short Bogosian isn't going anywhere.

I don't think that's allowed anymore. IIRC the Jets tried trading Beuaguard to Philly then trading back for him right away. To avoid the waiver draft or something.

Doesn't really look like either, plus both wear face shields.

Is that perhaps Cormier? Really though, that guy looks massive.

I have only heard Dreger once (during intermission of last game) so there could be more, but he sited his sources on who the possible tradable assets was the Winnipeg media.

EDIT: that said we all know Dreger has legit sources most of the time
