I would like habs to take a run at a defenseman named DERYK ENGELLAND as ufa.

Clowe as a ufa yes
John Scott as a ufa

Moen has zero interest for us. His time with us, he was terrible. Don't think we even offered him an extension. He has been better for you, but our fans have written him off.

Consensus on our boards last week was for picks, clowe = 1st and Murray = 2nd, our fans would be happy with that. We MIGHT get that from two separate teams, but its a stretch.

Sharks need a good return, not destroying your future return. I could see something like the following working: Kristo + 2013 2nd + conditional 2014 2nd (Clowe re-signs) for Clowe + Murray

Brooks Laich is the missing link with the Canadiens :

Faceoffs - Penalty Kill - Leadership - Defensive - Grit and size

Someone on the main trade board here in the Clowe/Bruins thread posted a tweet from Jimmy Murphy that said the asking price for Clowe was a 1st rd pk and a prospect..

I know the Bruins have strong interest in Ryane Clowe but asking price is 1st rd pk and prospect from what I am told. Too high.
Would Hab fans be willing to give up that for a UFA to be Clowe?

No

I don't like what i'm reading on the Sharks board. It seems they can't wait to get rid of the guy. Doesn't mean he wouldn't benefit from a change of scenery but a 1st + prospect is just too costly for a UFA. The Habs should avoid giving a 1st or a prospect for any rental except maybe for Perry if they really think they have a shot at the cup this year and want to go all in (but it would cost more than that anyway since other teams would outbid us) . Ideally they should use their 2nds and 3rds to land the guy(s) they want. Anything higher and i'd bail off

Again i'm not MB but that's the way i see it

If its 1st and prospect.. then offer that to Philly or St.Louis for Simmonds or Stewart.

He hasn't played a game this year and you see the results in DC without him...I doubt they move him.

Joel Ward anybody? I'd do it if Washington keeps some salary. He'd be awesome.

Clowe can bring an element that the Habs need, but that asking price is way to steep. He has 8 points - all assists - and is a -4 in 22 games this season. No way should Bergevin even give that offer any consideration.

Sharks fans are saying on their board that a team would be insane to give a 1sr for Clowe. Some just want him gone and would take whatever offer is on the table.

Go read the trade thread on their boards. It's an eye opener as far as Clowe is concerned. Sound like the guy is terrible

The way Clowe is playing this year, he's no more than a goon, a slow goon. Even Travis Moen is more useful than him. At least Moen can play on the PK. Clowe is still scoreless after 22 games and he's slow as hell.

I would have been a good fit before but this year, I don't know why how many of you guys are saying he's THE missing piece.

Maybe all he needs is a change of scenery?

Still won't make his faster but I'd take a chance with him but I wouldn't give a 1st let alone 1st+prospect for him that's for sure.

I hope that if the 2013 first round pick is trade it will be for someone like Perry, Igilna, Clarkson, Simmonds or Stewart and not for Clowe.

SJ is dreaming if they think they can get. 1st rounder for Clowe. A 2nd round pick at best.

Nope, in the long run this 1st choice might give the habs a player that will help the Hbas for years....not worth trading for a player who will help the habs on the 3rd line for a couple of weeks.

Best offer...Moen or a mid-prospect + conditionnal 3rd
I know it's probably not enough.....but i would only move the1st for an impact player!
