Team is talking like with a win tonight... 8 points in 9 road games would be a decent road trip. Somewhat of a mediocre mindset imo.
Maybe it's true that less than a point a game on a long 9 game trip might be "ok"... but it just reeks of settling for mediocrity and being satisfied with less than average overall performances when 2 pts every game should be the obvious goal.
The Oilers have been outscored 30-20 and outshot by a 278-195 margin in their 8 games on this roadtrip. That's being outshot by over 10 shots per game on average. They've been horribad in almost every area. It's ok to try and stay optimistic but everyone can plainly see it's merely putting lipstick on a dead donkey to say this roadtrip was anything but horrendous.
2011/12 season 14-23-4 on the road. 2010/11 season 12-23-6 on the road. So going 3-4-2 on the longest road trip in team history is progress no? I agree they have played awful but they have a chance tonight to salvage this road trip.
