Just for concocting this idea, I want TMac fired. Why is TMac so adamant about playing Murray? Sit him, put Burns with Stuart or Vlasic and go with Demers/Braun/Irwin on the bottom pair.
I know we have a glut of defensemen right now, and not enough goal-scoring, but putting an injured player who has made a living playing defense into the forward spot isn't a good idea. I don't think Burns has played forward since he got drafted.

Burns was drafted as a forward and played most of his rookie season as a forward, but injuries on defense caused Lemaire to move him back to D where Burns played all but his draft year in juniors. Burns game took off on D, but did get moved back and forth a few more times over the next couple seasons before it was permanent.
Just dropped him from my fantasy team, thought he was done for the year
If he's playing forward, don't pick him back up. He's only had offensive impact from the blueline at the nhl level. He's just a big grinder when playing forward imo.
It's supposedly just to get him back into game shape, but that's a stupid excuse for a desperation move by a coach that's about to get fired (hopefully).
It's likely only for a game or two. I don't see it lasting the rest of the season. You put your best players in a position to succeed and Burns is better as a defenseman.

Still got him on my fantasy team. Maybe he'll have higher production as a forward but still fill a D roster spot in fantasy leagues

Huh, I guess he did play a few games at forward in the NHL. Good to know.
Still as you said, Burns' game took off ON D, not as a forward. He's getting paid the big bucks because of what he can do on D. He got traded here because of what he can do ON D.
So why move him back to forward? Let him ease his way playing on the position that he's clearly most comfortable with.
