Iginla deals

This is a list of iginla proposals that as a flames fan I would do:

Blackhawks:
Frolik(cap reasons)
Teravainen
1st

Stars:
Jack cambell
Brett Ritchie

Red wings:
Gustav nyquist
Patrick Eaves
2nd (conditional 1st if iggy resigns or detroit wins the cup)

Canadians:
Lars Eller
Patrick holland
1st

Penguins:
Tyler Kennedy
Joe morrow
1st

Morrow isn't going in a deal, especially for a rental. Right now, Shero has other needs to add before Iginla, unless Iggy can toughen up our third line or be a physical stay at home blueliner. We can score goals without Iginla. He would be a nice addition, but certainly not a need and not at the cost it will take for a rental.

No to the Pens deal. We don't need offense bad enough to part with Morrow for a rental.

I think all the 1st have to be conditional, if the team makes the finals, or wins the cup, or iggy resigns. Team wont be so inclined to just giveaway there 1st. Except NSH who traded their 1st for Gaustad.

As a Wings fan, I wouldn't want to see Nyquist dealt for Iginla. If DET was one or two pieces away from being a contender, I would consider trading for Iginla, but not at this point.A cup run is unlikely this season, which would make this trade unnecessary for Iginla as well.

IMO, Pittsburgh is the best fit for him, playing on Crosby's line. Ray Bourque of 2013!

Pittsburgh might be a great fit, but why break up the hottest line in the league?

Iggy would be a great addition to the Pens first line, bumping Duper to the third. But I wouldn't want him for that cost. Most I would do would be a 2nd (conditional. If he resigns or the Pens win the cup it becomes a first) and Maata plus TK. I know, that probably won't be enough and Calgary would rather keep him and I'm fine with that.

I'm sure Iginla wouldn't mind playing on Malkin's line

More like Malkin wouldn't mind playing on Iginla's line.

I think OCPenguin meant why break up the Kunitz Crosby Dupuis line since it's one of the hottest lines in the league right now. Iginla would play with Crosby, not Malkin. No question in my mind about that. Iggy is a RW. Malkin has Neal at RW, Crosby has Pascal Dupuis. Pretty obvious which of those two wingers would be bumped down if Iginla were acquired.

I think the team that will want Iginla most is the 1 team he won't be traded to Vancouver.

Rangers offer rights to Mats Zuccarello and authentic Oscar the Grouch garbage can circa 1976.

Acquiring Iginla would improve two lines - the first for obvious reasons and the third because Dupuis would be better than Tyler Kennedy. I totally agree that with as well as the first line is playing, changing the first line isn't a necessity and certainly not at the cost of Morrow and a 1st for a rental of Iginla. Easier to shore up the bottom six and see what happens in the off season or put together a package for a longer-term deal. IMO anyway.

Morrow is likely to make the Pens roster next year and they'll need his (and Despres') high skill/cheap contracts to offset the raises due to Malkin & Letang. While Morrow isn't the last prospect I could see Shero trading (that would be Bennett), he's certainly the second to last.

Would love iggy either beside kesler or the sedins. Depends where the canucks are health wise. Id give up jensen and a first for him. Work out some other parts to work around the cap.

Like it has been talked about a thousand times already..,.switch morrow with maata. 1st, maata, and Kennedy for Iginla. Now the flames need to keep losing so feaster actually realizes that team can't win the Stanley cup and its time to improve the future.

Alright where to start.

Don't see Chicago likely making that deal, but..I dunno maybe? Not sure how interested Chicago fans are honestly.

Dont like the stars deal, we don't need a another goalie prospect right now.

Red Wings deal is actually very interesting, I know Wings fans are very high on Nyquist but I assume they would rather upgrade their backend?

Canadians deal seems feasible IF the Canadians thought they were in contention for a cup, which I don't think they think they are, so they likely pass.

Penguins deal is the most realistic of the bunch, could see that one happening maybe.

I get the feeling we're going to wait until Deadline Day until we figure out what we really are. A lot can happen in a month. If we keep even about 80% of the momentum we've had so far this season up until April 3rd, I can see Bergevin working the phones big time.

Dont see the Stars dealing either Campbell or Ritchie for 35 year old, UFA to be Iginla. Especially when we need a top pairing defender far more than we need another forward.

Chicago won't be moving Teravainen and a first for a rental when they're already strong cup contenders. Get real.

That is exactly what I meant. Our first line's success is based on Crosby's talent and the chemistry he has formed with Kunitz and Dupes. In a perfect situation, Dupes is on the third line and you have Sutter-Cooke and Dupuis which would be ALOT better than it is. That said, I'm not a fan with messing with chemistry that is already there. Iginla is an upgrade without question. However, how long does it take for Kunitz, Sid and Iggy to get on the same page or do they ever? Dupes is an effective first line player in Pittsburgh only.

So, get the upgrade on the third line for a cheaper and get a stay at home d-man. You can get those two spots for either the same as it would take to get Iggy or a little less. Those two spots are more important too boot.

I don't think Iginla is going to get the return Flames fans want.

1. He's a UFA at the end of the year.
2. He's 35 and while still an effective player isn't what he used to be.

People act like he's a franchise player when he's not at that level any more.

If its a third line upgrade the Pen's need most, what about Stempniak for 2nd?

I would be more inclined to give up a second for Stempy than the wad of stuff for a rental in Iggy.
