Most realistic proposal I've seen in a Crosby thread. Top prospect, top defenseman and three first rounders.
I realize Crosby will 99.9% NEVER be traded but a thread like this is just estimate a value and basically is for fun, ***** and giggles. All that said - if a potential trade were to happen I would hope his concussion history would play into things but I would still expect a massive overpayment by any team since it's Sid.
This isn't a trade proposal thread he just wants to know how much other teams value Crosby and what players they think he's worth. We all know Crosby won't get traded, and the OP also said he never would.
I would say fair value is...
: Sidney Crosby, Fleury, Niskanen (to balance out cap for pens)
: Price, Subban, Pacioretty, Galchenyuk + Ryder (UFA) and a 1st in 2013
So yah...habs are crippled at the expense of the worlds best player by a mile, which is the reason I wouldn't trade for Crosby. I think it's fair value though...a 1st 2013, blue chip prospect, top 6 power forward, a top 6 winger/sniper, #1D and a #1 goalie but then we have no depth whatsoever.
Gally is a roster player for Montreal. You'd get two roster players - one with a very high ceiling as a center. Won't be Crosby but has number 1/number 2 potential. And a bonafied top-pairing, number one defenseman,
There is fair value there (and I'm not even a Habs fan)
And no... literally anyone can be traded. No one thought Roy or Bourque would be traded.
I don't know if you have heard, but he signed a pretty big contract that ensures that he'll stay in Pittsburgh forever. Unless either Crosby goes mental and becomes a serial killer or if Burkle and Lemieux both leave and Bob Nutting becomes owner, there is no chance of him moving.
What's wrong with you dude. It's a hypothetical. As a Pens fan I find the thread really interesting. It's cool to see what other fanbases feel that would have to or would give to get Crosby. And guess what, he could still be traded, especially since he signed his rights to Pittsburgh with that new contract your talking about.
You'd have to literally sell the farm, add a couple of your best roster players, and multiple first round picks. You'd be gutting your franchise to acquire Crosby and you'd think most teams would be worse off even if they are getting Crosby because of how much they gave up to get him. And then you wouldn't be able to build around Crosby for years cause you traded all your top prospects and multiple 1sts to get him.

From Anaheim I would give Perry signed, two 1sts, and Bobby Ryan. I'm not sure if that would do it though, probably not.

Fun is not something you'll find on the trade board. Nothing but butthurt emotions here.
The question was "what was Crosby's value". Alot of these proposals are just massive overpayments. Any team could massively over pay with 1st round pics for the next ten years.
Here's my OPINON as a Blues fan to what he's worth:
