He's playing with Calgary. That team can make anybody look like they stink. Plus with the rumor that Iginla has told Feester that he is willing to be traded, that has to be hanging over his head and affecting the whole team.
One of Danault, TT, Saad in place of Pirri would get the Flames attention IMO.
So you are saying one of the above plus Frolik plus a 2014 draft pick for over the hill Iggy?!
OMG that is a extreme overpayment.
Hawks would be best advised to pass on Iggy and keep all our top prospects and picks.
Lesser prospects ok ...
Yes, for sure, but we have a lot of prospects and we have most of the top 6 filled up for awhile. It wouldn't hurt us to let a few guys go in order to win the Cup now.
Danault and TT are not about this year. They are about keeping the team competitive in 3-5 years. Outside of these two (and Saad) I'm not seeing too many "impact" players. A lot of great potential complementary players.
Would you be willing to give Saad up for an upgrade this year?
I would be willing to get rid of a Pirri or a Morin, but not that top tier.
I don't like hanging on to all the prospects and picks but blowing them on rentals is foolis. A pick or two on a rental, but trading a top 12/6 player and a pick on a rental is seldom worth it. I would rather have them overpay on a player they are going to retain. Iginla and Ribiero are not going to be retained without significant roster turnover.
No thanks to them. They don't improve the odds enough to justify acquiring them.
