Ive been pretty impressed thus far and obviously so has Pellerin since he plays him on the top line as well as the PP.

How perfect would it be if the Isles go to Brooklyn and have a player named Joey Diamond on the roster?

Diamond is just on an OTA with Bridgeport, if he does well, maybe the Islanders give him a contract over the summer, even it's for only one or two years.

Note-Worcester plays at Bridgeport this morning, 11 AM. Good chance it's the first game for Pedan.

Pedan took warmups but was scratched. First line is Diamond/Nelson/Strome.
Right now it's 2-2 in the second. Nelson and Donovan with the goals.

EDIT: add goals from Watkins and Ullstrom. 4-2 tigers

According to the stat sheet, Nino has 2 assists so far. Both on the PP. For all the hate he gets, he is still producing.

How is Strome looking? I dont mean points or stuff like that, but does he "get" the pro game? Is he quick enough, mentally, to handle it? Is he overwhelmed by bigger AHLers?

It's only been 2 games but so far he's looked terrific. Of course his game isn't perfect but I can't see him doing worse than most of our bottom six right now. He actually looks like he hasn't missed a beat. But again it's only 2 games.

As for Diamond, the kid works so hard, and is being rewarded. It's as simple as that. You hear about guys "buying into the system" all the time. Diamond is an example of that.

Looks like Nino, Nelson, Donovan, and Strome are tearing it up today.

Nelson scores from (Strome) making it 5-2. First time all season someone other than Nino is the teams leading scorer.

You just mentioned a big part of our future. Hopefully some of them will be tearing up the NHL next season.

Have to assume at this point that if BST are eliminated, we'll see Garf add some or all of Nelson, Strome, Ullstrom, Nino, and Donovan to the roster...these kids are blossoming...Nelson in particular.

Love Nino, but Nelson is the man, Nelson is an awesome all around prospect, Nino will be the next Moulson, but with some snarl to his game. Excited about next season already.

Niederreiter-Tavares-Moulson
Nelson-Strome-Lee ,All 3 have the ability to play center or wing, and Lee has played well with Nelson already (rookie scrimmage 2011), and it looks like Nelson and Strome are meshing well already. I wonder if it's just a case of Nelson being such a good player, he meshes with everyone. Of course, Strome and Lee are good players inh their own right.

Oh come on, Nino-Tavares-Moulson will be Moulson-Tavares-Boyes all over again. That 2nd line looks exciting but I think one of them or Bailey would be better fits for JT than Nino, unless you took Moulson off the line.

Final 6-3. Donovan had 4 points, first defenseman to have 4 in a game. BPT is 4 points behind Hershey for the final playoff spot.

I have to give the scouting department credit for picking Nelson back in 2010. They traded up to get him too.

I love the fact that he's excelling as a 2-way center. Big, skilled centers with high hockey IQ are highly coveted around the league. His season so far has to be considered a huge success considering he missed time with a broken jaw. If it wasn't for that, he could be having an even more impressive season. He could very well be in the NHL next season, but he could be an absolute beast in the AHL for another year of seasoning at the Bridge. I'd say he'll be ready to make an impact at the NHL level by next year's trade deadline.

With all things considered, I think he and Strome are neck and neck as our best prospects. The Isles get flack for rushing Nino, but they've handled Nelson's development perfectly.

Mr.Wang would like to instruct all reporting prospects to not duckface for team pics.
