Sounds like illness not injury
This might explain some of the lethargic performances late last week

If you go by the Highlander effect, the Oilers are the new kings of the NHL. Colorado beat Chicago first, we whipped up on Colorado. There can be only one.

I don't think anyone here caught it, but MPS threw a shoulder into Wilson's jaw just as the camera panned back up the ice. That's the reason a scrum was developing. Great move by MPS to stand up for himself
What? No kind words for Hall? Another 2 pt night for him...playing at a ppg pace now...not too bad.

Hopefully we can ship him out before the trade deadline. If not we NEED to dish him then. The guy doesn't want to be here and is a total black hole for offense. This forward core is looking the best it has all season, I'd rather not break it up for le sulk.

Im liking the balance the lines have right now , if we could get some with size and skill to play with Nuge and Ebs what a line that could be ... dare I say playoffs ( if we got that player )

Dubnyk played with a quiet confidence. That is the most focused I have seen him play this season.

Petry has really been coming on lately...another very strong game for him.

Gagner had a good game as well although he is still very weak on face offs. A paltry 30% in this game and he has been consistently poor all season. As a 6th year pro he has to be much better.

Much maligned by the usual suspects on this forum but Horcoff has been a difference maker for this team. His veteran presence and his 57% on the dot tonight was very valuable.

Aside from a few passengers (J Schultz, Petrell) an overall a solid team effort against a bigger more physical team.

Tons of scoring talent spread across 3 lines = supremely balanced attack. Who does the other team cover. Coaches nightmare.

I somewhat agree with you.

The fact that is was 4-0 for us really does tilt the scale, but I would have preferred him to stick up for himself.

Nice job by Krueger with a regular line up. Not sarcastic, just feel like a kudos are in order.

I'm sure someone will want that "veteran presence" as depth down the stretch and into the playoffs.

The only potential problem for the Oilers, just this year (and possibly going forward) to fill that spot with someone who can PK and provide energy.

Edit: Because of the injury Lander isn't ready this year, Smyth is DONE and Vande Velde is awful.

Paajarvi just kept going with the play.

After it was whistled down, he threw the shoulder into Wilson.

The thing I was really impressed with is after the 2nd time the Avs went after Hall, Brown goes out with Hall the very next shift. It's nice to have a guy who we can actually put out and provide a little insurance without spending the whole shift 10 seconds behind the play. I was wanting him all year, and even I didn't think he'd be looking this good

Let's hope they can continue or we will all be back on our medication in no time. I am happy about MPS starting to show some progress. He was the guy I really wanted to see take a step forward when the season started.

I can see Belanger going at the trade deadline to a playoff team that needs PKing and a "defensive" center.

I have to wonder whats up with Belanger. He's always been a 30-40 pt player, I think he's mailing it in because the Oilers have sucked so bad the last few years.

I wonder how many of them are sick. Nuge was sniffling and coughing in his postgame interview so he must be sick as well. They need these couple days off.

So many positives tonight, and it was nice to see the same lines roll out all game with the exception of Hemsky leaving early. Other than the usual suspects, I want to mention Yakupov, Brown and Potter. Yakupov is having so much fun out there, and even when he's not scoring, you still notice him out there throwing his body around and making plays. Brown is probably the best "import" bottom 6 forward that we've found since Glencross. I remember when Glencross was acquired, I really noticed him early and he seemed like a difference maker, I get that same feeling from Brown, but to a lesser extent. Potter was safe out there and made the right plays, not sure who comes out for Fistric, Whitney's been much better, so I think Potter is still the odd man out even though he's faired well lately.

Solid game all around, no complaints from me.
