How important is Horcoff? He's played a total of 11 games, possible 22 points for the Olers. They collected 16 pts of the possible 22! He will never be our big pt producer but obviously he brings a much needed ingredient to the lineup. With Horcoff in the lineup I like our chances. May sound simple but I believe there is a connection there.

2 out of 5 games won already.
Ducks will probably win. So it's up to Van and Kings to win too.

Were better off with Min winning tonight due to Regulation wins compared to us.

Beachemin seals it vs SJS with an EN goal. LAK beating PHX. Things are looking good.

Teams guaranteed to make it:

ANA, CHI, STL, one of VAN/MIN

Teams likely to make it: LAK

Teams we're in the "mix" with: SJS, DET, DAL, PHX, NSH, the other VAN/MIN.

We need to basically beat out those 6 teams for the bottom-3 spots in order to make the playoffs.

Winning 2 of the next 4 would be HUGE (Beat SJS, NSH, - lose x2 to STL)

Our next 7 games are a bit tough:

vs SJS
vs STL
@NSH
@STL
vs CBJ
vs VAN
vs CGY

If we can get 10 of a possible 14 points, I think we go into "buy" mode at the deadline.

are really the only two games we can afford to lose, as you said, 10/14 points are needed.

The other teams, San jose, Nashville and Van are teams we're competing with for a spot and Calgary and Columbus 'should be' easy wins against bad teams, can't lose those.

San Jose on Wednesday is a huge bridge game. It will carry us far in terms of points and confidence.

Let us pray.

Phx is a horrible road team , they get behind they are toast , they can't open up with their weak offence down 4-0 to kings.

Actually Columbus are one of the hottest teams right now, I wouldn't count on beating them.

I doubt we go 5-2, but something like 4-1-2 would work perfectly.

OTL to SJS
OTL to STL
Win vs NSH
L vs STL
W vs CBJ
W vs VAN
W vs CGY

At that point I'd expect us to start being "buyers" at the deadline. Moving players like Hartikainen, Marincin, etc to grab "rentals"

This team's fans celebrate making the playoffs like it's an accomplishment. More than half the teams in the league make the playoffs every year - making the playoffs is like a C- on a report card.

The teams who are always in the playoffs are the ones who want A's, and sometimes have to settle for B's.

In New Jersey heads roll if the team isn't making the playoffs, because that's an F. No one shows to the arena, money is lost, and changes are made. Here there is no accountability.

Can you imagine being the parent of a child who gets straight F's for more than a decade, and just pray for them to get a solid C average? That's what we have become.

Rental deals are picks for players or package deals for UFA stars. There really is no middle ground where rentals are worth someone like Teemu Hartikainen; it's less or more.

It actually wouldn't surprise me to see the type of buy be something like a pick for Robyn Regehr or Jordan Leopold.

For an F-student working their way up, a C- is a happy day. It doesn't mean the team is happy with C- forever. Pittsburgh did back-lips in 07, Chicago in 09 - just for getting in.

Then there's the fresh start of playoffs. Last year the eighth place Western Conference team beat the sixth placed Eastern conference team for the Stanley Cup. It's possible both those teams miss the playoffs this year.

we haven't made the playoffs in years. Everyone should be excited at the possibility of playoffs this year. Obviously the odds are against us and this team has its work cut out for them but making the playoffs would be awesome.
