I'm tabulating 68% less Bags/avatar/60mins so the playoffs must be makeable.

San Jose is 10-11-6 in their last 27 games. They're where they are thanks to a 7-0 start and by taking games to shootouts.

If that pace continues, they'll finish with 53 points - or the arbitrary line we need to hit to make the playoffs. If we tie them, we'll tie-break them because regulation/OT wins (unless we win a bunch of our games in the SO).

I think the only teams we have to compete with for the 8 spot are St.Louis and Dallas. I think everyone else below us is going to fade and everyone above St. Louis gets in. Detroit being the only other team that might fall back and out imho.

Dallas isn't in it this year IMO. They're going to try "retooling". They're sellers at the trade deadline, already traded Morrow and likely will trade Derek Roy. Might even potentially trade Jagr. I just don't see Dallas being in the hunt if they decide to trade Roy as well. I think it comes down to the Blues, Preds and the Oilers IF we can maintain our play for the reamainder of the season. I also wouldn't count the Yotes out because they somehow always find a way to win.

I'm sorry guys but I just don't see the playoffs being realistic. We play Anaheim three times with our last five being Ducks Ducks Blackhawks Wild Canucks.

I am hoping we pull off a wild run here and get in, but if I were a betting man...

Had a look at the rest of our schedule and it is a nightmare. As well as we are playing, our odds are very long.

The Ducks have been pretty average over their last 10 games
We seem to have Chicago's number
We have proven that we can be competitive against Vancouver
The Wild... Yeah I'll give you that one

We've taken 5/6 points from the Canucks this year so far, and 3/4 from the Hawks. So its not impossible for us to beat both those teams one more time at home.

Anaheim will be an adventure, and we should handle the lifeless flames twice at home, they've been horribad on the road this season.

Really looking forward to the Iginla-less Flames, no more going in to god mode without him I hope.

This back to back with the Flames is gonna be tough.
They won't care what happens the rest of the year as long as they beat us.

If we pound the flames twice 9-0 and 11-0, I dont even care whether we make the playoffs! I just want to see us show those losers what its like to go through a full rebuild!

We should bring in the new rebuild for them nicely

I think it's great that were mostly playing teams that have pretty much locked up a playoff spot down the stretch. If last nights game is anything, those teams might come out flat and not try as hard, while Edmonton will be in playoff mode fighting for their lives. These last 14 games will show what this team is made of.

Chicago with their best Edmonton Oilers impression on Detroit. 3-0 before the 5 minute mark.

Is our Schedule unbalanced within our division? Unless I missed a game, are we playing Vancouver 1 more time than we play Calgary?

If we don't win at least 9 of our last 14 we'll be really counting on other teams losing games.

If the Oilers make the playoffs, it will be because they deserve to be there. That last week in April is a tough one for any team. They are going to have to be ready for every game from here on in to make it. I really hope that they don't take the Flames too lightly after a dominant performance against Vancouver. The Flames would like nothing better than to physically dominate our young, skilled players and knock them out of having a shot at the playoffs. The Oilers have a legitimate shot at the playoffs right now, but they will have to earn it.

We might not pick in the top 10 this year.

Lord have mercy! What will we get with that pick? A box of rocks??

The only "easy" games left are against the Flames. We need to win those three, there is no excuse. At least 5/6 points, or we will be in tough for the rest of our season. We have a pretty hard schedule and a road trip to LAK/ANH. More importantly, a loss to the Flames tomorrow would completely crush the momentum we've built up by beating 3 good teams.

Detroit is getting smoked by Chicago right now. After today we will only be 4 points behind them with a game in hand.

Oilers (35) could catch Detroit (39) by Wednesday if they can keep it rolling against the Flames and if Colorado can somehow manage a win against the Wings tomorrow.

Have to think these last three games we won't be seeing Toews&Kane, Suter and Parise, and the Sedins. In this shortened season where there basically playing a game every two nights I could see teams giving there guys an extra long rest compared to an average season.
