I think the real solution is to have her go on Cupcake Wars.

There is a local cooking competition. They already did a cupcake battle a few months ago - http://nickelcitychef.com/ has details. It was pretty cool.

Looked into that some. Because she is self taught she falls victim to the old classic.... Well we're looking for someone with experience. Well how is she supposed to get experience if no one will hire her.

Logistically it just isn't really feasible at the moment. We looked into starting online but not really having a good footprint out there she'd still have to work. Doing cupcakes plus almost 50 hours a week would be hard... Not to mention the worry of shipping them with out them being destroyed. A store front just isn't doable either.
I don't know how often you guys see her, but have her and Nicole ever talked cupcakes? She makes them all the time.

One of my friends recently had their friend die (like this morning) and now is doing nothing but posting pictures of them together and tagging said deceased person.

I'm mildly creeped out.

Eh, people handle things in different ways. Maybe their friend's family asked everyone to compile photos? I can see why that'd be uncomfortable, but I'm close to cutting the facebook cord, so everything seems strange.

As long as the friend is not addressing the recently-deceased....

Yeah they've talked a few times. One of the frosty recipes she uses is from her.

Florida Gulf Coast is now my new favorite team in the NCAA tourney.

(and if they can keep winning, more camera shots of the coach's wifey )

My daughter is happy as can be. Her Pinewood Derby results kept getting better - 6th, 5th, 4th twice, 3rd twice in that order.

The new convention center in Boston is SUPER nice...just in the worst possible location.

If you opened a 7-11 or something right down here, you'd make a mint.

Indeed.

I never need an excuse to come to Boston, but I do really enjoy this event. Some of the stuff is a bit much for me, but there's a good close group of us that come every year, and generally have a good time. I end up going to a bunch of the more 'intellectual' panels, so there's much less of the things that tend to annoy me. Waiting on one this afternoon about mental health and video games, going over some research and studies done on adults instead of children.

Paying convention center prices for food isn't fun, but thankfully there's a Starbucks in the Westin next door, so I manage to subsist on caffeine and baked goods instead of $9 for 3 chicken fingers. :p

Sounds cool. I'd like to go sometime. Maybe when my kids are a bit older.

The most exciting news for me from pax was that they are releasing a remastered version of the old NES Duck Tales game. I played that game to death when I was 8 years old.

I think that would be great if you brought the kids. There area decent amount of parents who bring their offspring, and it's really cool to see. There's a group that sets up an entire room of old school arcade games from when you and I were kids, and it's really cool to watch parents bring their kids in there. When both kids and parents faces light up at the same time, that's something else.

The expo floor can be a bit much, but the tabletop area is really great. Tons of board/card/dice game vendors hawking wares, with a crapton of open tables to just sit down and play. There's also a place where you can borrow a board game, old or new , for free, and play that for a while with some friends.

It's a really cool thing. Something for everybody I think. Massive in size though; if you look up how massive a convention center the BCEC is, PAX takes up every square inch of the place. One of the largest conventions that Boston gets from what I've been told by bartenders that I hit on.

I've officially submitted my resume to several local news publications for job consideration. Graduating with a journalism degree in May, I figured it was time to start that process.

Fingers crossed.
