I was listening to the Stampede - Muskees game on Saturday evening, and Dave Gagner (formerly of the Minnesota Northstars among others) was a guest for the 1st period intemission. He reported that his son Sam would be playing for the Stampede next year (upon making the cut list of course). Good news for Stampede fans and the USHL. He is apparently a great talent, and if Gorowski stays, Sioux Falls will have an amazing one-two punch in their top-two lines.
Yeah. He has been commited to Wisconsin for over a year. Also happens to be one of the schools going heavy after Gagner.
Gorowsky isn't coming back.
To add to this discussion. I had heard Gagner was going to play at Shattuck, but the USHL does seem like a better fit, I guess we will know after the playoffs when the tenders are announced.
I hadn't heard a thing about Gagner going anywhere . . . but his dad was at the game talking about it. The cool thing about the interview was that he said his son was going to tryout for the Stampede. I think it's funny that a player with the pedigree and skill of Sam Gagner would have to tryout for Sioux Falls, but that is the reality of the situation. I'm going to go out on a very short limb though and say he will probably make the team.
Don't be surprised to see Gagner end up playing college hockey at Minnesota.
After his USHL experience? Absolutley. I hope he goes to UND though. But I know his family like their experiences in Minnesota and that they just moved back there, so it is probably a foregone conclusion.
