What for? Edmonton need more one-dimensional softies?

The Oilers need to stop going after young players. They're not going to win anything without some veterans to teach these kids how to play. They have to start addressing balance. Niederreiter doesn't help them at all.

Hartikkainen probably wouldn't even be an upgrade on the Isles' 4th line of Martin-Cizikas-McDonald.

You aren't getting a potential core guy for a bunch of spare parts. You need to give up someone of value.
His value isnt the same as it was 2 years ago.

Our farm team is fine so we don't need Niederreiter. He's not going to play anywhere near the Oilers with Hall, Yakupov, Paajarvi, Smyth, and Hartikainen on the LW

Thank you good sir. The Oilers probably aren't going after young players anymore. Its just a few posters(and some suspicious new ones) making these proposals

Donovan has #3 upside and the isles don't have their 2013 2nd rounder.

The isles think Nino has 30 goal potential. They don't care whether others agree because they aren't looking to move him.

Neither the front office or the majority of fans, want Nino traded.
If Nino was dealt, I'd want ONE young player back, with the upside the NYI feel Nino has. Not 2-3 players with lower upside. The isles have a glut of solid, unproven youngsters. No depth trade for a key part of the organization.

Not to you, but it is to the Isles. Snow has said that he still considers Nino to be a core player. He had no business in the NHL last year, but has been successful in the AHL this year and is leading his team in goals.

Sharks would offer better than that for a chance at Nino. Personally, I would start our bid at:

Greiss (our UFA young back-up goalie, basically for extended tryout for you to sign next year )

+

Braun (Main sharks asset in this trade: right handed PMD, #4, with a strong shot on a great 1.25M contract)

+

Galiardi (RFA next year) and a 3rd (possibly 2nd).

Why would Oilers want him?

Maybe they would take him if the price was low enough.

If Snow were willing to take a quantity for quality trade, we'd have seen him do so last season, when Nino looked overwhelmed and struggling so badly.

No depth trade.

I'm sure there are a number of young Oilers, that Snow would take if the price were low enough.

Which of Teemu or Omark, would Snow consider a potential, high end first liner?

Well Snow can't think too much of him . . . . he wasn't asked to come to camp and is not playing on the team. If they thought Nino had 30 goal potential don't you think he would be on the team? So no way he gets a First Liner back in a trade.

This, basically, is what is wrong with the Oilers.

None of their top players are available for trade, and the rest are mostly plugs that no team wants. Probably best if the Oilers disregard the trade deadline completely and just concentrate on tanking for a top 3 pick...again.

22 yr old Donovan, named to this season's AHL all-star game wasn't invited either.

21 yr old B. Nelson, Bridgeport's best all round player wasn't invited to camp.

Gee, could it be that when Snow says he wants these players, playing 20+ mins a night in all situations, he means it?

Or maybe he dislikes all three?

Islanders don't want back big $ contracts.

My proposal;

To Edmonton:
Nino Neiderreiter

To Islanders:
2 of Curtis Hamilton, Linus Omark, Philippe Cornet or Mark Arcobello
Plus a 3rd or 4th draft pick

If that isn't enough Id consider Hartikainen for Neiderreiter straight up.

What do you think?
I am an Oiler fan and Hartikainen is not going to land you a prospect of Neiderreiter skill set . He has more value then any of the Oilers players out side of the big 5 and Klefbom and that is because of team need .

Making us Oiler fans look dumb . He said potential first liner which Nino is . Also what is wrong with letting a player develop in the minors for a while . Look at how our very own PRV is playing . He may end up being a very good 2 way second liner after all . How many team called him a bust ? Nino has higher upside then PRV

Isles will not trade one of their top prospects for that bag of garbage. Sorry. We'll give you Mayfield, Lee and a 2nd rounder for Yakupov. Yeah. Doesn't look so good does it?

OP original proposal was very insulting but comparing Nino to Yakupov is insulting as well. PRV would be who you would compare to Nino not Yak.

Do the Oilers brass, feel PRV has 1st line potential?

Nice to see both youngsters development back on track, after hitting rough patches.

Hopefully, they reward their gm/scouts faith.

If you want quality, you have to give up quality. This proposal is brutal.

I would love that deal, I'm sure all the Oilers fans would love it aswell. You love quality for quantity!

If Nino is going to get traded (I don't think he is) he will be packaged for a top 4 defenseman or a goaltender.

With that said, he is a bit pissed because he was mishandled last year (actually was coming on before he ran into Fistric). The Isles are doing the right thing to develop him this year by playing him in all situations 15-20 minutes a game in the AHL. If he is not called up this season, he stands a very good chance of being on the team next year.
