I think there's something else behind this move. They had to create a roster spot for someone, but I also don't know why Peckham (or Potter for that matter but he's a servicable #7) are on this team.
Oilers have an abundance of wingers and good top six players. If the bottom six suck they can play the top lines more. Or bring in a new winger from the PB. On defense, they are weaker, so if one pair is sucking they dont have the luxury of playing one pair 26+ a game (they can but wed bleed GA) so they have to carry additional D to bring in one, just incase one pairing sucks
I'm surprised by this, but at the same time it makes sense. Eager has the physical tools to do a lot more than he was doing; and since the Mike Brown trade, Brown has been much better than Eager in seemingly every area.
I don't think it was a bad signing in the first place; some players just seem to flop when they come here.
I don't get it, wasn't he finally becoming the player we signed him to be?
Don't you watch any of the games? He threw a big hit now and then but he doesn't drop the gloves any more. So NO is wasn't doing what they signed him for. And now that they traded for Brown, Eager isn't needed.
