Leopold you can have for free. I wouldn't deal Regehr for less than a 2nd though.

Sekera would be an upgrade over Martinez. Kings could add Bernier, Sabres Reghr+.

you do realize that Leopold will get a 2nd at bare minimum right? my guess is 10+ teams are interested in both players services come the deadline with the lack of experienced reliable blueliners on the market and the fact that every team wants to add depth for a run. Hf boards will tell you that their is no way that Regehr could get a late 1st but a GM who feels he is missing a piece like him and has pressure to do well in the playoffs may make a move like that. Even Jochen Hecht will return a 3rd/4th if Buffalo decides to move him. The supply is little, the demand is high.

The key will be Bernier. Dean doesn't want to trade him until the draft. Won't be easy for Buffalo to pry him away from the Kings right now. Doubt he is moved.

In all likeliness it will be for Regehr for some assets you weren't expecting, but still fair.
my guess would be your 2013 2nd +

Similar D-men moved at last years deadline

Oduya (2nd + 3rd)
Kubina (2nd + 4th)
Gill (2nd + prospect)
Grossman (2nd + 3rd)

Richardson and Martinez for Leopold and Stafford?

I could see the Kings moving King, but it'd have to be for someone signed for long term, so not Regher or Leopold.

Bad for Buffalo..if Buffalo moves them it's for futures or close to ready players with upside

How is Martinez bad? He's a young NHL'er with upside.

I would think Buffalo would be interested in Nolan/King/Jones/Bernier/, not sure how highly they are valued in LA
Nolon is to some king fans the best 4th liner in the league to me I don t want to see him move from the 4th line. He gets the least mins amoung king forwards that play.

Jones doesnt have alot of value to me. He would be the 3rd goalie at the moment thou.

Bernier however has alot of value to the kings. There was a report from darren drager during the intermission on feb 1 st stating the kings wanted a 1st and top prospect/young top 6 forward. Yes this is high but dean has stated on the record he is not shopping jb. http://mayorsmanor.com/2013/01/dean-...-too-valuable/ thats the article im refering to

he is a 25 year old bottom pair defenceman, we have them in spades (Sulzer, Weber, Brennan ect..)

DR is going to give away Stafford because he has struggled offensively for 25 games

Quick is younger and as good as Miller. And signed long term. Not sure why people think LA would have interest in this

He's bottom pairing on the Kings. He should be your 2nd pairing.

Yet next year a 10 yr $5.8M per year contract kicks in. Sounds really cheap...

5.8M Is a lot for a #1 goalie? Pekka Rinne's cap hit is 7M till 2019......

You have two LHD on IR and he hasn't broken 18 minutes in his past five games. Voynov got buried by the Kings defensive depth last season, Martinez is just mediocre.

lol. Our defense has played poorly this year. Martinez is still not a better hockey player than Ehhoff, Myers, Sekera, Regehr/Leopold. Dude just is not that good. He'd be in the same situation Brennan is here.

Not exchanging a 2nd liner for a 4th liner better (as much as Stafford's sucked this season, he's still a top 6 player who's likely to give you ~50pts). He'd have to actually be a legitimate top 4 d-man for that.

$5.8M isn't cheap.

Id rather have a goalie who is at a more manageable price.

In the structure of the cap next year you budget $25M for Dmen and goalies...so $7M is a high amount.

Check his preinjury stats. He played well as a top 4 with Voynov and averaged over 20 min. Martinez has played mediocre since coming back, but he is not ready yet(does not seem to have his game on track). I definately do not want to trade Martinez for a rental.

Do not want martinez, we need a legit physical top 4 guy and we won't find that in LA. If we're giving them regher I'd rather just get picks

It is cheap for one of the top 3 goalies in the league. It is cheap when he is 27 coming off a Stanley Cup championship where he was voted MVP of the entire playoffs and had better stats last season than the Vezina winner.

It is cheap for Quick.

Take a look at the contracts on our team and you will be very hard pressed to find any real overpayments. DL is wizard at structuring contracts and getting players to sign excellent deals.

What goalie is better than Quick that you can have for $5.8m per year?
