You think any teams would be interested in Neuvirth?

He's only 24 yo with a $1.125 mil contract. A restricted FA at season's end. He has playoff experience going 4-5 in two series. He is a two-time Calder Cup Champion in the AHL. I think his time with the Caps is just about done. I think he could be a good goalie again, if he gets a fresh start with another team.

I think a few teams would be, but the goalie market is pretty soft. I don`t think he`ll garner a ton in return. Not nearly what the Caps got for Varlamov anyway.

I think LA would be interested in the summer if they move Bernier prior to the draft. Maybe Martinez or a draft pick?

it's hard to say. the market is saturated with available goalies right now and no one is biting.

NJ and NYI are the only two teams that come to mind.

What was return for Bob? Neuvy should be worth just slightly more than him.

So it makes sense for them to go for another goalie from a team that is moving him because they are unhappy with their sub-par goaltending?

?

Caps would be moving Neuvirth to bring in a veteran to mentor Holtby, not because they're unhappy with him.

Since when is it saturated? Luongo, who no one's biting on largely because of his contract, and...? Miller rumors are bogus, Bernier ones may or may not be.

I don't think Neuvirth gets much. A 2nd if the Caps are lucky.

He is the third best young but unproven goalie on the market behind Bernier & Bishop. And that doesn't include Khudobin who will be a UFA and is just 2 years older. Then there are the vets like Miller, Luongo and Hillier who could be available.

Neuvirth has been sub-par the past two years and it is doubtful a team would want to depend on him to be a starter.

Add it up, and a mid-round pick is the most likely return.

I would be willing to switch him with Kipper, Kipper gives Holtby a veteran who can take some of the pressure off and is still a good goalie, and Calgary gets a young netminder who needs a change of scenery.

There will be a lot of interest, but what people would give up is a different story.

Since nobody is looking for a goalie and at least two are available.

I'd trade Neuvi at the draft and sign Kipper or another vet as a FA.

You'll be waiting a year to get kipper as a FA. Isn't one until 2014.

Then I'd do Neuvy for Kipper swap unless somebody for some reason makes a desperate mind-blowing offer at the draft.
