No because he's right. Letang is noticeably better in his own than Karlsson.

One huge advantage Toronto has (and has had for a while now) is that they get to dictate the speed of almost every game they play. They have slowed this one way down compared to that last meeting. I guess it's kind of a win-win for Pittsburgh though:

- Pittsburgh *should* be able to beat Toronto in a run-and-gun game, just based on offensive dominance

- When the game is slowed down, Pittsburgh tends to play a more disciplined game. Add to that the fact that Toronto has been pretty soft so far, it seems like the cards are in PIT's hand.

That being said, I think the game to play run-and-gun against the Pens would be the one where Malkin is sitting out. We'll see how they move in the 2nd.

I use colour commentators' assessment of Letang's powerplay game to determent if they know anything about other teams. If they say he's a great powerplay player I know they only watch highlights.

Why are people hating on Letang's game? Think he's been good. PP didn't suffer because of #58, they suffer any time a PK pressures them.

Letang's issues on the PP are all mental. Keep it simple, Kris - and you'll stop ****ing it up.

Letang struggling on the powerplay proves why we need to bring up Joe Morrow. He is slick on the powerplay, and he's strong enough to make it in the Nhl right now.

You can't have hesitation on the PP. Passes have to be perfect & timing is everything. You get a split second before there is a body or stick in the lane.

That's the job of a pointman. Gain the zone. Calm things down.

But we definitely could use better puck support. No doubt.

I dunno if i would give the leafs that much credit. If their plan is to play run and gun when we have malkin and slow the game down when hes out thats not very smart.

letang needs to shoot on the PP, he has a bomb for a shot, he needs to stop forcing passes to Neal and Sid and just rip pucks

Thank you sir!

So if Despres is playing who is sitting on D?

Our powerplay will be fine when Geno gets back on it. If it struggles without him, whatever.

the origin story of Phaneuf's name is pretty good:

Claude-Mathias Farnsworth was captured by Native Americans allied to the French and brought to to Montréal, more precisely in their tribe of Sault-au-Récollet. Matthias stayed captive of the Indians at the Sault until the end of 1705 or early in 1706. They tried to 'frenchify' his name and accordingly named him 'Farneth' for his baptism, then 'Fanef' at his wedding. After many variations (Farnets, Fairnout, Fanef, Phaneffe, Faneffe, Faneuf) according to the caprice of the scribes, it is only in 1755 that it was spelled "Phaneuf" for the first time in the registers of Pointe-aux-Trembles.

or so the story goes...

That Carson City Saloon commercial is so annoying. Mostly because of that insane yinzer voice.

Yeah, I can't stand how smug Steiggy is. He does this with most opponents. Finds one of their guys and pokes holes into their game ad nauseam in comparison to one of the Penguins. Kovalchuk is another guy he does this too, Lundqvist as well.

Steiggy is like a HF poster that can't stand any other player being thought of in a good light over one of their guys. He is just ****ing terrible.

Despres seems to be playing it very safe, not pinching in a lot of the time. Not necessarily a bad thing, but seems like he's making sure not to make mistakes.
