2nd line LW, 3rd line C to Rangers

I think the 2 biggest problem with the Rangers are the lack of depth and their secondary scoring. so they need an upgrade on 2nd line LW so that Gaborik can go back to his natural spot on the RW, and they need an upgrade at 3C since Miller is just not ready to carry a line.

guys who could be in play... Del Zotto? Kreider? Boyle. prospects, picks.

David Booth?

Not sure what his trade value is, his possession numbers have been fantastic and he has been pushing play forward since he came back, he just can't seem to find the back of the net. He should get some bounces soon.

They want scoring, not advanced stats at 4 million a year

I can see the rangers grabbing a panther cast off for a pick

Filppula and White for?

I know it doesn't solve the 3rd line center problem, but Detroit doesn't really have one to give honestly. But IMO, it solves the defensive depth issue for the d-corp and gives the rags secondary scoring.

Keep in mind, both offered/asked about are UFA's.

EDIT: Unless the Rangers decide to use Filppula as the 3rd line center... but he produces better on the wing.

Could see Higgins or Raymond being made available for picks/prospects to help facilitate a trade for Ribeiro or some 3C.

I think I would take both of them, but at what price?

Nash for Anisimov, Dubinsky, and maybe throw in a prospect like Erixon and a 1st or something.

Gotta get some depth on that team.

Dude, Kreider is not going anywhere. He was a dealbreaker for Nash. You think they'd include him for some 2nd or 3rd liner?

I'd take Macarthur. Could we get him for a pick?

no I didnt want Stepan traded. I think Kreider may be in play for a top LW since we badly need one and since it seems everything he does puts him in Torts doghouse.

I'm sure the contract of Nash had alot to do with that.

I doubt it. Last year a team offered a first for MacArthur and Burke said no. I would accept a 1st personally this season (he is a rental), but I know you guys don't have one, also wouldn't wanna wait till 2014's draft.

I really think MacArthur is valuable, but with the amount of wingers the Leafs have (Kessel, JvR, Lupul, Kulemin, Frattin, MacArthur, McClement, Komarov) that can play in a top 9 role, and his contract situation he is expendable.

Maybe two 2nd round picks would work? I think I'd prefer to keep him now that I think about it unless it's for an overpayment, or he's part of a package deal (MacArthur++ for a top 4D).

Ryan Jones from Edmonton would be a good fit.

No.

Kreider wasn't available in a trade for Nash. He's not available now.

Brooks Laich or Marcus Johansson for MDZ?

Both of them could play as 3C or 2LW.

Filppula and Franzen are your men.

Seriously, they fit those needs perfectly; one is an upcoming UFA, the other is signed forever at a nice cap hit, but needs a "change of scenery." Filppula is best served centering the 3rd line I think, but he's also a pretty darned good 2nd-line wing. Franzen is a 1st-line sniper, but streaky.

If you want White too, take him, but he's also a UFA; Quincey is signed for the next couple of years at a relatively high hit, but is a top-4 guy who plays in all situations and is pretty good defensively.

All for the low, low price of Gaborik and/or MDZ+.

(... so many Rangers threads lately and I post the same crap in each one ... )
