Pascal Dupuis

Top10 underrated players on HFboards?

Currently on 12-game point streak and I can't think an aspect in his game that would be considered a weakness. Well ok he has bad hands but still 52 points this season playing with Sullivan and Staal.

What you think? Certainly won't be named when people talk about quality wingers in Pittsburgh.

Solid player on a good team/system. He's a 2nd liner having a good year. Don't think hes underrated at all.

Hes had a very good season, especially when you consider he has not spent a lot of time with either Malkin or Crosby.

And rightfully so.

How many other players are defensive stalwarts, score 20+ goals and 50+ points, and cost 1.5 mil per?

Ah, this week's Pens player to fluff. What random, mediocre Pens player is on the docket for next week? Pens' players evidently fall into 3 categories: 1) legends; 2) MVP's and players robbed of MVP's; 3) underrated superstars.

Funny how Staal's season high in points is 49, and Dupuis's is now 52, and still can improve. I'd rather have Staal of course, but still funny to think about.

You didn't have to click on the thread.. and nobody called him any of the things you're claiming. People are giving Dupuis some respect, and rightfully so. This happens for many teams/players on HFBoards. The dude is having a career year. A thread about him was going to be created at some point.

I loved Dupuis on the Thrashers. HATED when he was thrown into the Hossa trade. Apparently the Pens actually wanted Perrin, but Waddell said they could take Dupuis instead.

Waddell...he still makes me face palm.

Ah that Bourret trade looked so good at the time... I don't really regret it, because is Bourret has panned out like he was supposed to, it would have been robbery.

He's a solid player in a good situation.

That's about the same value then. Giroux makes more than twice as much and doesn't have twice the point production. Dupuis still has better value.

Funny how Dupuis became the most important part of the Hossa trade. I still remember when Dupuis had that first excellent season with Minnesota as a youth.

A player who gets twice as many points isn't worth twice the cap hit.. Lol. Giroux is far better value than Dupuis - he eats up tough minutes, more minutes, and his production is FAR more consistent.

Assuming we're excluding entry level contracts (Karlsson):

Desharnais at 0.85 mil a year until 2013.

Would be awesome if he can extend the streak and have the best point streak of any NHLer this year.
