Ironically, the current Senators could beat any team in the East if they show up to play. Blessed with a well-coached team and stellar goal-tending, they could steal a series.

Trust me. We do. We love Saku. We'll never love him quite as much as Habs fans did but you can't not love him...he's just so well spoken, so polite with the fans, such a hard worker...I've been saying all year that our third line is the heart and soul of our team and it starts with Saku Koivu. I've never seen Andrew Cogliano and Daniel Winnik play this well and I think it's because Koivu's work ethic is rubbing off on them. Biggest heart and soul guy on out team for sure. We more than appreciate him.

Sorry, wasn't an attack on anyone, I just noticed that some of the teams were mixed up on a few posts. I don't think it really matters, I just wanted to clarify that it was fully updated for anyone who wanted to use it for their predictions.

Pittsburgh vs. Toronto would be really interesting. Pittsburgh has won 2 of 3 this year, but the second game they won in the SO and Toronto almost won it late. Last night Toronto outplayed them for most of the game but fell apart in the last few minutes. The first game though, Toronto completely outplayed them and won 5-2.

I don't think it would be as one sided as people think.

The current rankings wouldn't even hold anymore anyway because if the playoffs started now, Toronto would suddenly be ahead of New Jersey and Pittsburgh would be ahead of Montreal because they have more regulation and overtime wins, even though they are ranked below at the moment because they have played 1 more game. Detroit and Phoenix I'm not sure as they have the same number of points and wins in regulation and overtime and I'm too lazy to go any further

NYR have no Nash, no depth and the D is banged up. MTL is the exact opposite.

2. Pittsburgh vs 7. New Jersey. 4-2
Assuming Malkin is back. Crosby - Kunitz dominate but MAF is average at best.

3. Carolina vs 6. Toronto. 4-1
No Ward no problem. Staal vs Bozak as the #1C matchup.

4. Boston vs 5. Ottawa. 4-0
It's looking like a good year for the Bruins.

West

1. Chicago vs 8. Minnesota. 4-1
Suter averages 30+ minutes but the Hawks have too much depth.

2. Anaheim vs 7. Detroit. 4-3
Dats as the #2C is unfair matchup wise.

3. Vancouver vs 6. Phoenix. 4-3
Kesler-less Canucks win in the most boring 7 game series of all time.

4. Los Angeles vs 5. St. Louis. 4-2
Very similar teams, LA has the edge in gamebreakers.
Kesler will surely be back by then.
