btw i agree he's been slow and ineffective. that third line has been the place where everyone goes to die.

I don't think Heatley is a bad player. It's more the product of playing on a bad line. Heatley's slow, but I don't think he's any more ineffective than Coyle/Brodz/Clutterbuck so...

I'm so glad we signed Mitchell this offseason. Dude hustles like no ones business, and is always creating havoc for the other team. That was definitely a great signing.

Also props to Seto as well. That boy sure turned it around. Trade rumors lit a fire under his bum.

On a positive note, I created a Clutterbuck fight thread.

So weren't people talking about trading Cullen earlier in the year? he was streaky but I feel like I've really liked how hes been playing for a good amount of games.

More than that, IMO, we wouldn't have won half of the games we recently have w/o Cullen. The guy has been an absolute machine. I don't know if it was chemistry or some epiphany, but he sure has turned it on EVERY shift.

I think it's pretty clear he's more comfortable at center than wing.

Trade Brodziak in the offseason. Bring back Cullen on a 2yr deal.

This. The big question is if he's worth keeping if we expect to move him to wing permanently.

Deal with that problem after Granlund proves he belongs, not before.

I like this idea. I wonder if we try it. Heatley is looking very unmotivated, he could use a rest.

Crazy how fast things can change in a year. Brodz was unstoppable last year, and then he signed the contract.

I still say Granlund was outplaying Brodziak before he got benched and then sent to Houston. Yeo didn't want to bench Brodz because of his handedness though. We can bring in other right handers for PP purposes etc. We can find another right handed center to replace Konopka if they feel they need a right handed center somewhere in the lineup.

Granlund on the 3rd line until he improves offensively is just fine. That's where Koivu got his start.

Seriously. It was getting a little rough there, but he really has turned it around, and deserves massive credit for his last ~12 games.
