Linköping wins in OT.
GWG scorer had 2 goals in the regular season and has a great comment during his post game interview: "Aim high, shoot low."

We'll probably have to wait another 6 games until this series is over. Skellefteå and Linköpings previous playoffmeetings both went to game 7. The first time it was decided in period 6 of game 7.

He can make his nhl debut in the stanley cup finals if they wanted to. Think jacob silfverberg for ottawa last season. Ottawa owned his rights so he came over after the sel season & pkayed his 1st nhl game in the playoffs

I don't think this is true. The bruins own his rights.

I'm not an expert on contracts and what have you. But Silfverberg already had a contract with Ottawa and was on a loan in Brynäs. Carl isn't signed.

I think it would be amazing if we miss getting the Yeti this year, and next year he's a Penguin and wins a cup. Just makes too much sense. Oh and also he scores 40g

I think Carl is on the last year of his ELC which is why when he plays this year, it expires and he becomes a free agent.

Maybe I'm the crazy one but I haven't seen too many questions being asked of our Swedish comrades about how Carl has actually looked in the playoffs. Granted this was only his second game but it sounds like he's been pretty quiet so far. If he isn't able to contribute in the SEL playoffs, how is he going to handle the NHL playoffs? I'd be more concerned about that than when he'll be arriving stateside.

Didn't the Bruins terminate the contract that St. Louis signed? At least he's not listed as playing in Linköping on a loan, and he has a contract with Linköping until 2016.

That's a relevant question, of course. In the first game against HV, I don't think it was an easy game for him to play. One of those games where everything seems to bounce against you, your goalie doesn't play at the top of his game and what have you. He still managed to go +/- 0 iirc, I personally couldn't watch that game (yup, they've won 5 straight since I've been able to watch, sorry about that), so I don't know how much he produced offensively in the first game. In his first game back (i.e. tonight), however, I'd like to say that he played a decent game, at the very least. He single-handedly, with his skating, produced a power play which wasn't Linköping's best PP on the night, but still had a few decent chances in it. In one of the two PP's that were actually good, he played a large part in it. From what I remember, he won just about every crucial faceoff he took (the ones he lost, he or his line mates regained control over anyway). He also should've been drawn another penalty on Joakim Lindström for a blatant high stick, but it wasn't called.

As for creating actual opportunities, his line was very good at the end of the first period and in the 2nd and 4th periods. The way Skellefteå plays in the neutral zone (very tight), should suit him once he, and the team, gets comfortable with playing through it. When he used his size and ability to protect the puck to his advantage, he managed to create mismatches for his line mates, including giving Hjalmarsson a great opportunity in Overtime (just minutes before the fourth line won it). I can't say I remember how they played at their own end, which is probably a good sign. I did see him on PK at least once (might've been when Skellefteå made it 2-0, at least Hjalmarsson was in on that since the puck deflected off his stick).

Overall, I'd say he played a decent game, especially considering the opposition and it being a road game they might have felt that they didn't absolutely need to win (if you know what I mean, first game out of 7, away, against the #1 seed). I think he'll be more involved in point production the upcoming games. Either way, it doesn't really translate automatically that if you dominate the SEL playoffs the SC ones will suit you equally well or vice versa.

Just watched the highlights (http://hockeyligan.se/video/2260766507001/), yeah, Carl was on the PK when the opponents scored, but it was an unlucky bounce/deflection, not much for him to do. Shouldn't even have been a penalty to start with.
