Best thing about that article:

Interviewer: [Semin] tried to stand up for himself [by fighting Marc Staal]. Because every time he returns from an injury someone tries to push him and knock him down, and maybe even reinjure him.

Filatov: I don't know, but maybe it's not the best way to stand up for yourself to beat someone like a drum

Why am I picturing him lifting a "Boulder" the size of a cantaloupe and a tiny potted tree about 6 inches high?

And why am I now picturing him running across the beach, wearing white rolled up pants, his hair fluttered by gentle breezes, the sun glinting off his slightly tanned abs?

I remember when Filatov was making fun of Stamkos for not scoring as many goals as him early in their first year

I as well....

We (Byrral and me) if anyone should know his NHL history but I do admit, the non CBJ posters here are spot on about the kid.

Nikky would have been better served to have told his mother to go home... I was a huge Filatov supporter but he refused to play the NHL game which requires playing defense as much as offense... He had scoring skill but all he wanted to do was skate around hoping to get that perfect shot..

He was not a team player, he was a MOM player.... too bad Nikky, you blew a great NHL career because you listened to your mother instead of your coach!!!!

In all fairness, Filatov did have better AHL stats over his career than Stamkos did
