2nd line was garbage
Power play was garbage
Jokinen invisible like usual
Using Brent on the point over Faulk or even Sangs or McBain is beyond stupid. How many teams have a 4th line scrub on their point for the #1 PP. Better yet, how many of them are successful with it. None? That's what I thought.

The chances were there but they got out hustled for 2 periods. Winnipegs up our ass so they better turn it around next game.

Hearing Tripp saying the Canes had "less to play for" just ticks me off. We've come up a point or two short FAR too often to take any game for granted.

We have to fix our power play or we are screwed. It is just flat out terrible.

A powerplay worth a damn is the difference between winning and losing in games like this

At this point, a powerplay worth a damn is the difference between being comfortably home-ice in the playoffs and teetering on the edge of 9th place.

Staal's stupid penalty at the end of the 2nd looks more idiotic now.

I think it might be time to admit that when Wallace isn't steam rolling someone he is completely useless.

Eh, can't win em all. I would have loved to have killed the Caps season but from what I saw,(I missed the second) we had our chances.. Ovi came to play in the third, a few mistakes =loss

Admittedly I saw it at a distance with no replay, but it looked like a bad luck penalty to me.

Well that wasn't really a late goal if I remember correctly, I'm talking within the final 3-4 minutes. Either way, we should never have been in that position to begin with. I'm starting to hate the way we play with 2 goal leads.

I like how they called that but missed a similar high stick on Faulk by Oleksy

And Washington's entitled fans felt like they werent getting calls. :funny: Ovechkin's dive after a love tap from Corvo was hilarious too.

Team had regained at least even momentum near the end of the 2nd when they still were ahead by a goal, then Staal with the high stick at 20 min mark to give WAS a fresh-ice PP to begin the 3rd and they not suprisingly capitalized to tie it and regain their edge.

Dumbest/most-costly penalty of the season so far, given this point of the season and opponent (meaning the Caps are the unlikely choice for them to give away their first game after leading during the breaks to).

Think he's talking about the 2009 playoffs. Our franchise's high point in over half a decade.

Absolutely agree 100%. This was not the players loss, it was a coaching loss. That applies to the constant lack of PP success as well. Crap. Oates was saying yesterday that they had to dominate the neutral zone. And, they did. The caliber of talent on the Canes don't lose to a team like the Caps unless they play horrible or, bad goaltending happens. Neither happened. Out coached. A team as potent at even strength doesn't fail so badly on the PP unless the PP plan doesn't work. It hasn't.

Coming out for the 2nd and being clearly outworked is not on the coach, nor is taking a stupid penalty. The 2nd line played horribly with Skinner giving away the puck at every opportunity. Jokinen is still invisible, but that's no suprise.

Like someone said earlier, it seems like they are shooting when they should pass and passing when they should be shooting on the power play. They need to go with a bizarro player play and tell the players to do the opposite of what they think they should be doing out there. Kirk might have already embraced bizarro power play by putting Tim Brent out on the point. We need to get Westhgarth out there too.
