Can't ask for more in a captain. Based entirely on their on-ice performance, I don't know what they're like in the locker-room obviously, Toews, Ladd & Iginla are probably my top 3 captains in the NHL. GOOD CANADIAN KIDS.

Ok Don! You really should take a look at Callahan and see if you can make a top 4. He's not Canadian but man is he a good captain!

I was kind of iffy on Ladd the first season but I've definitely come to see his worth and am quite happy with him as our captain.

Ladd is awesome. He was playing with Bolland and Versteeg on the shutdown line in Chicago which was a dangerous line. Hated to see that broken up, but having a line like that as the third line is not possible anymore under the cap. Glad to see he is doing well elsewhere.

Ladd plays with heart, he is as tough as nails, and he does whatever it takes to help us win. He gets underrated, even by Jets fans because he isn't a speedster, fancy puckhandler, or an offensive creator but I think the results speak for themselves. I truely hope Ladd retires a Jet.

Totally right.

Ladd is exactly what you want in your captain.

In the dictionary, next to hockey player, is a picture of Andrew Ladd.

He's a modern day Steve Thomas.
He can play any role you ask of him, and play it well.

In 08-09 Ladd was near the league leaders in ES points/ES TOI. He was playing on the 3rd line and getting PP time because the Hawks had Kane, Toews, Sharp, and Havlat/Hossa (depending on 08-09 and 09-10) he went to Winnipeg and his ice time and in particular PP time shot up. Maybe he improved a little bit as well as he entered his "prime" but the first factor is much more crucial.

The East is way easier to score in than the West. I was a huge Ladd fan but no way you give up Toews for him.. remember Toews is younger than Ladd and had a bigger role on the Cup winning team.

I like Ladd but he didn't have that big of a role in any of the two Cups. He was probably the 8th-12th best forward on each of those teams. I'd say it's more to do with being on good teams and luck.

He's given an opportunity to be the go to guy in Winnipeg and he has the skill to be a 65 point player.

Ladd's physical presence + defensive smarts was a very underated role on Hawks

He was part of a great shutdown line in that years playoffs

Considering the Jets' lack of PP hay making this year, only 2 of his goals have been on the PP. However, his SH% is pretty much double his avg, and in a shortened season that means a heck of a lot. He's also one of only 5 players in the league that hasn't gone more than a game without a point.

Oh captain, my captain.

Anytime a third liner comes close to 50 points in the regular season is impressive and means that the team has plenty of secondary scoring; Ladd wasn't in the Blackhawk's top 6. And defense is not something easily evaluated by looking at a statsheet.

Ladd also has a sick release which accounts for a good portion of his goals.

He's definitely shut me up this year.

Just an incredible worker and it rubs off on the rest of the team, and his release this year has been better than ever.

He's the cog in the machine that can form into any shape you want him to. He's always been a favourite of mine. He would have definitely gotten more recognition if he got 1 more goal in the past 2 seasons.

Out of all the guys the Hawks had to drop after the Cup, this is the guy Chicago misses most...Just a great player...He had plenty to do with winning the Cup.

It makes several seasons that he's a solid forward, he knows how hockey must be played, I truely love this kind of guys, but let's be honest his current shooting % is 10 points above his career average. I think he's having a career year.

He had 28 goals last year. Hardly a off year imo.
