I say Leblanc's role is not a need. It's not a knock on Leblanc. Blunden, a less talented forward, has size, speed and fits the bill on a fourth line since our top nine is stacked. Leblanc is better served in the AHL playing 15+ minutes working through and improving his game. In Leblan's case, will have to wait and see where he's at come September.
but i doubt he sees it that way, as i'm sure he's got to be frustrated with not only his struggles to produce but the teams struggles as well since they are one of the worst teams in the league. So to see others go up and he remains and continues to struggle must be really tough.
I'd also disagree and say it's very much a knock on Leblanc as it should be. He's been terrible this year and im sure he knows it too well. Hopefully he can use this over the summer to work harder and build off it next year, his final one in the AHL since he'll have to clear waivers the following season.
Blunden was Blunden. He's a 4th liner who works hard, hits people and scores a goal here or there. Total depth player, but he always brings energy. Wish he had a little more hockey sense especially on the defensive side of the game then he could replace Moen. Not going to happen though. Too bad, but he's fine as an injury fill-in.
