And there is my grief with EA. The stock game is "meh" until you buy a bunch of other crap for it.

New update to apparently fix traffic issues. A big fix is that emergency vehicles will use unused opposing lanes and will also get priority when leaving their garage.

That will definitely make this game more playable.

I just loaded it up to confirm there was an update, but don't have time to play it just now to check if the traffic is behaving better..

I don't feel like redownloading BF3 just to test it but people are still having unresolved issues. I tried about 10 different things, from deleting/renaming folders, various Punkbuster fixes, uninstalling, updating on Origin, etc. and I just stopped caring after a while.

Aside from that, if I want to play the full game I'll have to pay for more DLC despite already dropping $60 on a game that worked for 2 months and didn't work for about 13 months.

I wonder if they'll ever make fire trucks respond to multiple fires at once instead of one at a time.

I've just about had it with this game. Putting myself on a hiatus until a few more patches down the road.

Wonder when they'll make it harder to remove the "always online" requirement.

EA really isn't the smartest bulb in the three, are they?

All the games they announced as the "free game" for Sim City are now on sale. So anyone who who was thinking, like me, ah what the hell.. maybe I'll grab this and get Dead Space 3... both games will be $30.

Now I can just buy Dead Space for $30 and skip Sim City, if I want. Horrible idea.

it's actually a good idea on their part, give away the games that they are already putting on sale/discounting, hence leaving them with less potential losses than giving out full-price games

I have a couple small tiles devoted to that in my current SC4 region.

Nothing but poor people, dirty industry and McJob commercial.

Oh, and coal plants. Lots and lots of coal plants to sell cheap power to my cities with actual money.

I can't figure out how to sell things between my cities. Can anyone help a brother out here?

I've got one city sitting on 2,000 barrels of oil (at capacity, can't pump anymore right now) and another with the full trading setup with major oil storage facilities in my main city.

From what I've heard this functionality is broken at worst, and lagged at best. I was watching someones LP of Sim City 5 and it took anywhere from 10 minutes to half an hour for things to transfer between cities, and often the amounts were way off. Sometimes it never got there at all.

It also feels like trading in general is broken, at least for me anyways. I can never ever ship enough ore or oil or processors to upgrade my headquarters beyond the first upgrade. Also, that traffic patch isn't doing **** for me as my fire trucks still get stuck in traffic.

I wonder how complicated it would be to change the traffic calculations from shortest path to fastest path in Sim City 5.

In Sim City 4, the most important thing was a single variable. Once they found that, the sims always took the fastest path.

I would laugh my ass off if thats all it would take in this new one.

Was really excited for this game but ive been dissapointed. I loved the little things like the pop up newspaper in the old games. This feels so robotic.

At first I didnt mind the small map sizes, but yea, its a complete disgrace now. I want to make a HUGE city, but i can't.

EA better fix this stuff, i'll wait a month or so until a few more updates come out.

What I'm having trouble with is setting up the transfers. I've got everything in place (built oil drilling, have storage areas) but I can't even find the option. Am I missing a step?
