Our whole team broke down there -- Kassian stayed down low because Gonchar had gone up to the point. It's not like the point wasn't covered it was just one of those shots that got through.
Daugavins is terrible 5 on 5 by the way. Kassian did look a bit lost on that shift but given that it's his first shift in his first game with this team I'll not blame that whole sequence on him.
The problem was that he didn't commit. He did a shoulder check at the blue line, picked up his man, and when his man skated into the opposite end he decided that he kind of stutter stepped as to whether he should go in with him, decided to try and go back to the point, but it was too late.
