Winnipeg looking for "scoring RW" - Cheveldayoff (please read OP)

As per interview on tsn1290. Top 6 only please - most likely 2nd liner. Youth, rfa, ufa, rental doesn't matter. Make a reasonable offer. Lots of picks available, not many prospects. Have a bit of a logjam at D.

Edit:

Chevy also prefers size. I don't think he'd be looking for a small winger. Someone that can chase after the puck, we play a lot of dump and chase. "Scoring" means someone that isn't afraid to shoot, not an elite sniper. We already have a RWer in Wheeler that is almost a pure setup guy.

To be crystal clear:

2nd line RW that shoots first and needs a change of scenery or is in a slump.

Probable pieces offered:

- Burmistrov C 21 1.5 cap hit expires into RFA 2013
- Hainsey LHD 31 4.5 cap hit expires into UFA 2013
- Postma RHD 24 550k cap hit expires into RFA 2013
- Stuart LHD 28 1.7 cap hit expires into UFA 2014
- Antropov C 33 4.0 cap hit expires into UFA 2013
- Thorburn 4th line RW 29 866k cap hit expires into UFA 2014

Burmi is a defense first C that's good on the 2nd or 3rd line, and fantastic on the PK. Hainsey is a shut down LHD. Postma is a young offensive RHD who is redundant in our system. Stuart is a physical LHD. Antropov is a rather slow C that is good along the boards, has decent passing and play making. Thorburn is a 4th line grinder with little offensive ability, and will stick up for team mates.

We have all of our draft picks except for 2013's 7th round. We have Chicagos 2nd and 3rd in 2013, as well as NJD's 7th. We also have pick #59 2013 for not signing Dalton Leveille. Also have NJD's 4th in 2014.

Just to be clear we are looking for value. We are not looking for Perry, Iginla, Kessel, Pominville, Stewart, Gaborik, Eriksson although I'm positive these players are right at the top of Chevys christmas list. We're looking for a guy that needs a change of scenery, or is going through a drought. We are not looking to trade core pieces, or get core pieces in return, because of the asking price for those pieces.

Pavelec, Trouba, Scheifele, Bogosian, Enstrom, Byfuglien, Wheeler, Ladd, Little, Kane, Slater, Redmond, Kulda are all probably out of the question.

Here's Chevy talking about it:

http://video.tsn.ca/?dl=radio-winnip...85779/clip/302

I can see the following players being of interest:

- Eric Fehr (oh the irony)
- Drew Stafford
- David Jones
- Devin Setoguchi
- Teddy Purcell
- Matt D'agostini

Although some of these players are definitely on the high end of what we'd want value wise.

Since they've been scouting the Avs for quite some time I wonder if David Jones might be in play.

You included Skjei and Eminger/Gilroy as if a potential future 2nd pairing d-man and an awful #7 guy would be enticing pieces when Winnipeg is giving up a young #2 d-man, a young #2 center and a good/great pick.

Pominville, or Stafford if you want a lower price tag.

I don't understand how this benefits Winnipeg. Gabs probably is a buyout candidate.

just stop with the Bogosian proposals. He's probably the most untouchable player on the team.

Nah man. Maybe in a couple years if Trouba becomes a proven commodity we could look at trading Bogosian, but not now.

I've been watching the Thrashers/Jets for awhile and I would definitely value Pavelec over him, most people would counter with Kane.

Toronto's scoring wingers:
Kessel, Frattin, MacArthur

Jets players we'd be interseted in:
Kane, Schiefele, Byfuglien, Trouba, Bogo

Out of the current roster I'd value Bogo, Kane, Buff, Ladd, Wheeler over him. If we're not counting prospects Pav might end up in the 5th spot.

I don't know about that. If I were a Jets fan, I'd prefer Kane and Ladd over him as untouchable. JMO

Jones for a pick seems about right. Not sure how much Sherman would try to get though. I'd guess a 2nd since it will probably be 16th or later.

If the Jets do anything it's Likely a small addition, not a drastic overhaul.

Bogosian is going nowhere. Something smaller around a guy like Stafford would be closer to ideal IMO.

I take it that you haven't watched Buffalo games.

No team should want to touch Stafford with a ten foot pole at this point.
