Actually, it wasn't. It was a little dig at my fellow Pens fans and their lovefest for Crosby's current RW.

Winnipeg also has the depth on the blueline to make this trade a reality.

Bogosian for Stewart has a lot of potential as a basis for a trade.
Most trade offers that center on Bogo are non-starters for most Jets posters. He is a rock on the defense and is still only 22. He is also a huge fan favorite.

Not sure on the details of the Jets franchise I'm sure there fans could tell you more but I would have to assume when a team would have the opportunity for someone that caliber you can splurge on your internal budget if need be.

I take it you don't watch many Sabres games either.

Stafford is not playing bad, he's just not doing what he's supposed to, and that's score. He still works his ass off and he should have more goals than what his stats are telling you. He is need of a new everything (scenery, coach, linemates, system).

When I was in WNG I went to the BOS game. Was talking to the fans that were there. Talking with them and watching the game we talked about they need a fwd with more skill. They have a lot of size but they need a top 6 winger that has more skill than power type. We came up with Hemsky. I know you guys are going to say no way he is injured too much and is not big enough. But I think that Hemsky would be the perfect addition to your top 6. Hemsky had surgery on his shoulders and he is now healthy and is not soft what a lot of fans that don't watch him much.

Would Matt Read be of interest? Maybe something based around Read for either Burmistrov or Enstrom when he comes back (whoever the jets would rather part with)?

Yes and no. In the past True North said the would be a mid level team and spend the money if they felt they were ready to contend. Now under the new CBA the prevailing wisdom is they can turn a profit as a cap team.

I don't see a deal here with the Flyers (unless we can convince you that Briere is the RW you need ), but I can't help but remember a poposal that I offered a few months ago.

Andrej Meszaros (26 years old, 2 years @ 4.0, then UFA)
2012 1st (20th overall)

* This trade would only be plausible (if it is at all) if Winnipeg agreed to terms with Enstrom on a long-term deal first.

* I'd happily swap Voracek for JVR, but I assume that Voracek (RW) fits Winnipegs needs better and, at the moment, has at least as much value.

I know Jets fans are reluctant to move Bogosian, but if Enstrom was resigned, would this be a fair return that fit at least some organizational needs?
Obviously it is a non-starter now, but both Jets and Flyers fans hated it at the time as well.

Back then, I thought Meszaros could still function as a solid 2nd-pairing defenseman, but he's struggled coming back from injuries this year. I also thought Voracek would likely end up a 50-point RW who would continue to struggle with his finish.

Read + for Enstrom makes sense for the Flyers (but not the Jets), but I don't see the logic (from the Flyers perspective) in a Read for Burmistrov swap.

That sounds promising for the Jets. Perry will consider them I'd think.

How high are Jets fans on Burmistrov? I'm assuming still pretty high.

Definitely reasonable, and probably the direction that Cheveldayoff is looking.

Not for the return that Oiler fans want.

No thanks considering Read has 1 year to UFA. Enstrom is signed for 5 more years and would return a big package if moved. I would also rather keep Burmistrov or if traded get assets under longer term control than Read.

Closer to home? I guess.

The chances Corey Perry signs in Winnipeg are about zero. If he doesnt stay in Anaheim and it's really all about the "close to home" thing, it'll be Detroit, or TO. He lives in London and it's smack dab in the middle.

Burmi has turned into a bit of a polarizing figure. He is currently in the dog house and has been a healthy scratch last 2 games. The kid has tons of talent, but hasn't learned to harness it yet. Offensively he tends to over handle the puck and get himself and his linemates out of position. On defense he is well past most players his age are at. There is some thought he might end up becoming more of a defensive specialist.

Cheveldayoff has been pretty good at picking up solid players on wavers so far. Just because a player isn't playing well under a certain team or coach doesn't mean he won't fit in with the Jets.

And this is the sort of thing that explains why Leafs fans are universally derided.

Optimistic, but if he can't adjust to what the team needs of him, who knows what will happen.

For the love of god, no Bogo or Kane or Wheeler or Buff or Pavelec or Trouba or Schief or Ladd.

Realistically being traded (who have been mentioned previously),
2nd round pick or later
Hainsey
Burminstrov - Darren what's his face of TSN said he maybe available
Postma

St. Louis fans were talking about getting a D to play with Pietro...I think their forward group is more than stacked enough. They don't need Burmistrov of all people.

For some reason I thought they had said RHD to play but I could have been wrong.

So you want to get something that has high value without giving up anything of high value.

Does a second line rent a player qualify as high value?

You have a poor grasp of their needs. They need to add talent at centre and need a left-handed dman to play with Pietrangelo.

Sabres RD looks really weak on paper, haven't watched enough of their games to know for sure, would a deal like Postma + 2nd/3rd (2014) be enough to get him?

What's Eriksson worth to Winnipeg? Know it's a long shot with us being in the same division next season, but whatever.
