That's a really good graphic design in the OP.

Tomorrow's going to be a tough one. Boston's no doubt wanting to rebound from that blown lead to the Pens on Tuesday. At least Boston also played today, so we're not the only one on playing back to back.

Think the streak will end here but I'd like to see Crosby have a big game regardless. He's due a goal.

not officially, but it's only one week since the injury and Bylsma said 1-2 weeks. I would be surprised if he plays.

Really loving the GDT, FS. You using straight photoshop? Did you buy it or using a trial?

Not yet DB was asked on Friday if Geno could play this weekend and he said Geno was out for Saturday's game. He was asked again this morning if Geno could play Sunday and he said I dunno. Just going by DB comments sounds like theirs a chance he could play.

I'm using GIMP to cut out the players. Everything else works with Photoscape.

Thanks for the info. Hoping he'd play tomorrow, but no need to rush him. Better safe than sorry at this point.

I'd also like to say great work Frederick. This game worries me; we've been kicking butt for so long it seems that we're due to get ours kicked.
Maybe I'm just being pessimistic. What do I know?
The Pens confidence must be sky-high after 8 in a row. LGP!

Doubting Geno gets the nod tomorrow. Coming off a shoulder injury they'll probably let him sit out for a potential bash-fest with the Bruins.

You know.... I'm okay either way. 8 in a row is damn good. If we lose to the team we snuck one out against, oh well. What I'd love to see is OT.

Boston is winning the East. To me it's pretty easy to see. They have 3 games at hand and only 1 point down. They are also the most complete team right now in the east. So I'm expecting them to walk away with #1. I just want points to hold on to #2.

Agreed on all counts. What's your take on our recent play in terms of the breakout / system, compared to earlier in the season?

Baby steps. Baby steps. It's not full-time yet, but when our defense activate we are a whole new team. I've seen an F3 here and there, too. I don't know what's being preached because it's not consistent the entire game. I just pray our defense continues to pinch in w/ the comfort of our F3 being high and supporting. It makes us so dangerous. We control the puck forever.

Our d-zone is still a freaking mess. I hate it. We have a guy stand in front of the net - that doesn't pick up any 1 player - but stands there to protect it and stare at the play. What the **** is it for? A puck will beat that player every time. We've been lucky that open players haven't scored but they are still open. I see the defense being more aggressive, but i still HATE that guy who stands in front of the net for no reason. Pick someone up and stay with 'em.

Case and point - Sid had to make a RIDICULOUS play on JVR who was wide open in front for no reason. We had a guy standing on the strong side of the net just staring into space.

Breakout is getting a little better, too. The less stretch passing we do the better. Why? Because it actually opens the stretch later in the game. If we can continue to wheel back and come in for that short chip, I will like it.

The true test is Boston and NJ. We beat Boston by playing a 2-3 basically the 2nd/3rd and RELENTLESSLY attacked. Do we do the same in a 1-1 game? 0-0 game? I doubt it. For some reason Bylsma waits to send that urgency. And until I see them react to NJ differently, I'm not sold we can do it in the postseason.

Interesting stuff on the other points; still trying to recognize bits and pieces of the system stuff (I need the official Cole Pens practice board and dry erase marker set!)... but the point you make above is exactly what I've been noticing. Glad to hear you say it as it confirms my suspicions. I think this is part of the reason Orpik is getting abused so much, as he seems to be "that guy" a lot of the time, just standing around waiting for someone to draw him away from the net so he can get burned.
