Why not? I think the fact that they're on an even footing means that we can take more from it than last we played where we had a day off and they came off an OT game the night before.

Man, I want Malkin to be ready.... our smurfs to hit Chara hard at least 10 times, and for the team to prevail in a game they treat as 60 minutes of signature time hockey.

Boston is winning the East. To me it's pretty easy to see. They have 3 games at hand and only 1 point down. They are also the most complete team right now in the east. So I'm expecting them to walk away with #1. I just want points to hold on to #2.
There is entirely too much season left to be handing them the conference already. Win tonight, get a 3 point cushion. Ya, they play 3 extra games. They are in the drivers seat for sure. But 2 or 3 more losses than us the rest of the way is all it takes. Easy to do? No. Possible. Absolutely.

Side note: How hilarious are the standings with Winnipeg's 32 points sandwiched between us and Boston.

I'm saying the streak ends today. Boston's surely a bit mad and embarrassed by their performance a few days ago. They beat the Caps pretty good yesterday (literally), and I think they'll be playing a lot harder. We certainly aren't going to win every game for the rest of the year, so I can see losing to the best team in the conference today.

we are going to need solid goaltending. I can't imagine they finish this game with under 20 shots again.

This is a game where I wish we had a bit more size on the wings. We had a lot of success last year when Neal and Kunitz just spent the majority of the game hitting Chara every chance they got. I don't think that's something Dupuis can do.

I'm one of the few left on the board who doesn't want Dupuis on Sid's wing come postseason. But he absolutely can lay the body on Chara. Did it several times against Boston's D on Tuesday.

Guy has a solid frame and plays hard every shift.

he can, but its not as effective as when Neal does it. And I am with you. I still want Dupuis down to the third line.

Bruins fan here I can honestly say Pittsburgh is my clear 2nd favorite team to route for. I hope we play each other in the playoffs and I'm looking forward to today's game. Like I read earlier in this thread a OT game would be great to watch. Hope there are some fights and a high scoring game. Goodluck guys.

please not high scoring, we need to string together a few good defensive games in a row. And ya, fights don't seem like the way for us to go. I do usually enjoy Boston games though. Its just more interesting to play other top teams.

Must be some tired bodies already on each team since both played yesterday. They'll try to knock Sid around, but this is a game he alone can win it for the Pens. His endurance and the teams overall speed will play big in this game. "The legs feed the wolf, gentlemen"

I'm an optimist and I don't want to see the streak end...not today! GO PENS!!

Seriously? No matter the quality of the game, you don't think there will be the de rigueur references to the moron HCDB not making adjustments and being seriously out coached, TK, Adams and Glass completely worthless, the stretch pass thing not working, our soff and lazy D letting guys park in the crease, etc., etc? Lets not forget that we just can't beat the good teams.

I think with the absence of Malkin and Chara focusing on Crosby, this will be another game where the 2nd/3rd line guys contribute to the win. 3-2 Pens is my prediction.

I'd rather get a clear cut top 6 option on Sid's wing, and have Dupes down on the third
