Toronto Anaheim "Troubled Youth"

Let me preface this by saying I don't actually want to trade Jake Gardiner, as he should be up with the Leafs the whole season and not buried in the minors "developing". I've also noticed that Cam Fowler's production taken a nosedive and Devante Smith-Pelly is struggling to produce in the minors after playing for more than half the year on Anaheim's roster last season.

So just for the sake of conversation, how fair would a Jake Gardiner to Anaheim for Cam Fowler and Devante Smith-Pelly be?

For the sake of what conversation? No. Fowler has been one of our best defensemen, he just hasn't had luck getting points.

Anaheim traded Gardiner because he would be redundant with Fowler. They don't want him back for that price. As a Leaf fan I would do it because of the 2 for 1 aspect.

I would love to do this as a leafs fan, but it's a big hell no from Anaheim. I don't even think Gardiner gets you Fowler.

Not only is Fowler better than Gardiner both offensively and defensively, he is also younger , so its not even like Gardiner has a brighter future

Gardiner doesn't get you Fowler straight up, and you want Anaheim to add? Are you joking?

I'll echo the hell no. He's one of our best blue liners. Leafs have to add just to get Fowler alone. Ducks management always saw it like this

Fowler
Schultz
Gardiner

Fowler is an upgrade. Smith Pelly is overkill.

I'm pretty sure Cam Fowler is viewed as a better D than Gardiner to Anaheim..

He's been in the NHL since 18, so I don't see why Anaheim would add to get him.

We need to keep Gardiner++ for a #1C player/prospect.

No No No
I wouldn't trade Fowler for anyone in Toronto's organization, his defensive game has tremendously improved and the points will come

Hai Toronto, hockey is played outside of your time zone, too. Watch it sometime.

Gardiner for Fowler and Smith-Pelly, my GOD.

Uh....what? Gardiner does not get you Fowler straight up. And you want the Ducks to add??

Then again, I've seen the OP call Gardiner the next Niedermayer, so u can see why he thinks Anaheim needs to add....

Wow. Anaheim is really lucky if they can get an actual maple leaf player.

Fowler has no points. Bust. Just move on to a good player.

Kidding about the fowler thing. Fowler is awesome. Glad to watch him grow. No reason at all to move him.

That's what I thought. I had to re-read it to clarify that he said "and" and not "or". Even then, I agree Gardiner for Fowler, it's the Leafs adding. For DSP? I wouldn't make that trade, don't know how Ducks fans would feel about that type of trade.

It's on at 10:00 pm

Some of us may have **** to do the next day.

Also don't think cause one Leaf makes a proposal like this that the whole fanbase thinks the same.

I think most Leaf fans are quite aware that hockey is played outside our time zone. I mean we're giving millions in revenue sharing to ****ed up teams to help them pay for good players.

Not saying the Ducks are one of those teams.

as for the bold...I agree with you.
