Would be more interested in a Sabres reality TV show at this point.

FIRE EVERYONE!
Trading Ehrhoff is dangerous because if he retires prior to his contract expiring, the Sabres will get hit by the new recapture penalty.
Keeping him in the organization is probably best, as that way they can control their own destiny.

Just an example: If he were to be traded and proceeded to retire prior to the start of the 2018-19 season (the first of three consecutive filler $1m seasons), the Sabres would be charged $3,333,333 from that point until 2020-2021.
If he was traded and the Sabres started rebuilding now, that'd be a crucial time.

Understood but there were other options. Not saying I want him but as an example Marc Crawford working anywhere? The off season doesn't guarantee you get your guy either.
Rolston with our existing suck balls assistant coaches that are actually the ones running the game day show is obviously wrong.
Jesus just put the bat light on already for Pegula! I want Roger Neilson!

Thank you and good night. Drive safely.

haha I would too...maybe see what they say/do on the team bus and flights....hotels, dinners, etc....

Funny thing is that Arena will probably be sold out every game for the rest of the season even though they continue to play like arse.

Well considering the majority of those tickets are already sold... I don't know nothing really funny at all.

The decision to get rid of Lindy seemed to happen rather quickly.

Rolston being interim coach is a quick fix and easily reversed.

Hiring an actual coach on that short notice would have resulted in a poor decision IMO....

This makes getting rid of Darcy, Rolston and everyone else easily done at the end of the year

That wasn't from a TBN guy on Twitter, but it might as well be. Seriously? Blaming the fans?

I don't think the fans want to run miller out of town. Bucky Gleason maybe

I'm just here to say Pysyk is going to be the best defender on the team in 2-3 years. The guy has a ceiling, it's a high ceiling, but he has one whereas Myers has unlimited potential and an unlimited basement as well. Pysyk plays the game that worries more about simplifying the plays than over thinking them. He's not going to light up the scoreboard and he's not going to have any crushing bodychecks but goals will be limited to a minimum when he is out there.

As for the GBU:
Good-
Hodgson
Pysyk
Flynn
Leino
Ott

Bad-
Everyone ese

Ugly-
This may challenge the city as the lowest points in sports history. The Bills have no gameplan that I can decipher and the Sabres are rotten from the core on out. Damnit...

Goaltenders can be acquired, drafted trades for etc...

Miller is good to great depending on the night, but he's clearly not enough to win games on his own.

He's gone July 10th 2014 anyway. Might as well maximize his value.

Just a small note: the beginning of free agency is unchanged (July 1st) for every season besides the current 2012-13 season, which opens July 5th.

The only change made was the ability for teams to talk to UFA's prior to the beginning of free agency:
Quote:
Unrestricted Free Agents may meet and interview with potential new Clubs from the day after the Entry Draft (but not later than June 25) until June 30.

1.) Roger Neilson passed away in 2003.

2.) A guy like Crawford isn't gonna come here and work with an interim tag. They would have needed to sign him to a multi-year deal just to give him a 30 game tryout....and somehow they'd have to convince him that it wasn't a tryout.

The only way the interim tag really works is to hire from within.....

Stu Boyar speculates that Myers started the season out of shape on NHL Radio. Why hasn't I heard about this rumble before?

Is this sarcasm? Its been talked about everytime the Sabres get a primetime broadcast. Milbury brought up, it was on the MSG hockey recap show this morning and wasn't the first time. That ex-ranger guy mentions it occasionally as well. Coulda swore it was on this board since like the second week of the season and Hamilton mentioned it before Ruff got fired that he thought Myers was out of shape after recovering from the injury.

Sorry.

But as I listened to the rest of the interview, Boyar wasn't as bad as I thought he was going to be, so I shouldn't have immediately tried to **** on him. Especially with the drivel that has been coming out of the BN, particularly Harrington's **** tonight. WGRZ personalities might be considered a breath of fresh airhoff in comparison to TBN

Caps say Ott broke fighter's code:
Quote:
With 7:12 remaining and the Capitals leading by a goal, Ott shoved his stick under the armpit of Capitals rookie defenseman Steve Oleksy and uttered the two words every hockey player understands. “Let’s go.”

Oleksy immediately dropped his gloves and threw a couple punches. Ott kept his gloves on, skated away and drew a two-minute roughing minor on Oleksy.

“It’s a tough spot when you’re tangled up so tight and somebody asks you to go,” Oleksy said. “If he does drop his gloves and he comes through with one, at this level the guys are too strong and throw too hard. It only takes one.”
Quote:
Afterwards, the Capitals were seething about the play of Ott, who knocked defenseman Tom Poti out of the game with a cross-check to his back in the second period; roughed up Nicklas Backstrom by grabbing the back of his helmet on a faceoff; and got unto a scrum with Alex Ovechkin, taking him off with him with a roughing minor.

“It ticks you off,” said Caps forward Joey Crabb. “All of us feel the same way. The more you play against him the more you realize he’s going to pull those kinds of things.”

Asked if it is an unwritten rule that a player doers not skate away from another player after saying “Let’s go,” Crabb said, “One hundred percent.

It happens all the time with him. Not with most players. There are a few players in the league that do that and he’s one of them. Hey, it got his team a power play, so it worked.”
I don't particularly enjoy these turtles .. they're the type that leave me shaking my head.

Olesky messed up by immediately throwing punches. He should've waited until Ott got his gloves off.
