Bruins fan coming in peace. It looks like you guys are about to blow it up in Buffalo. I definitely feel Miller is on his way out. What woud it take to get Vanek on the Bruins?

Would you take Subban, Caron, and a 1st?

I think Vanek is exactly what we need in Boston, what do you think?

If we are blowing it up, Vanek still isn't going anywhere. He's a piece to build around.

Subban, Hamilton, Caron and Spooner are all intriguing pieces as well as draft picks. Why didn't you just post this in the trade talks area though?

P.S - nice to see another Oshawa poster, go Gens.

Package is in the ballpark, but he's not going to be moved to Boston.

Hey man nice to see someone else from Oshawa! As to Vanek moving him would help you rebuild. It's a foregone conclusion that Miller is going to go. You have a glaring hole in goal with him gone and i don't think Enroth is a #1. Subban has a ways to go but will never play with Rask there and Svedberg is a decent backup. Khudobin will likely leave as a UFA in the offseason. Hamilton is untouchable and you'd have to add to get Spooner.

I don't post much so didn't post in trade talk (as I didn't even think about it lol) but will do that now as well. Wanted Sabres' fans opinions.

Can't tell if you're sarcastic or serious. If you're serious I'll come pick up Vanek and drive him to Boston (from Toronto) lol!

Yeah, if Vanek is on the block, Boston won't be the only team offering a trade, so up that offer.

I'd rather see someone coming back other than Caron but the Sabres need to get serious about life after Ryan Miller and the first round pick is a plus. I'd rather have another pick than Caron but that offer is certainly one that I would consider.

I think Darcy would want BOTH Koko and Spooner in any package from Boston. And that's just for starters. The price would be astronomical for Boston.

Well, Penner went for a 1st, a young defenceman prospect that was drafted #13 overall (Teubert), and a conditional 3rd round pick. I think Vanek is worth a considerable amount more than Penner.

I personally don't have all that much interest in Subban, goalie prospects are just too random for my liking.

Vanek's the one established guy on the team I don't want moved unless something astronomical is coming back.

There is no way you would get both Koko and Spooner. I'll add Spooner to the deal but Sekera would need to be added on your end. The obligatory conditional draft picks based on playoff performance and we'd have a deal.

It doesn't matter how many compensation picks are thrown in, a package of Vanek and Sekera isn't going to a division rival. Neither is Vanek on his own unless it's a ridiculous landslide in Buffalo's favor.

We don't need to build around him, but he can be a good complimentary piece.

So an intra-divisional trade of one team's best scorer for futures? That will tend to ratchet the price up for the buyer. Two bluechippers and a high pick would likely be what Regier is looking for, though the idea that Vanek stays in the division/conference may be enough to tip him further. Boston has the bluechip prospects, but would Regier have the nerve to ask for 'em in trade? And how high is too high a price for Chiarelli?

i have no interest in any of the failed leadership core sticking around... even if it prolongs the rebuild by a bit.

That would probably get it done if it weren't Boston.
Need a little more for an intra-divisional bitter rival.

So we trade one of the best wingers in the game and arguably our best defenseman for two prospects?

Yeah, keep dreaming..

Vanek would take a huge package for a divisional rival to land him.

Vanek is one of the biggest problems with this team. His efforts recently have been embarrassing. He is constantly hurt and a "fake" star. He holds some value right now and I would look to unload him.

This is a nonstarter as far as Buffalo is concerned. Regardless of who's coming back, Vanek is the best player in the deal. He's a 1st line winger under contract for another season. We'd be trading him within the division. You cannot just take off the table your two best prospects and say, "No, I don't wanna!" Because, if that's the case, there's no deal to be made.

He's many things, but one of the biggest problems?

Since when is being the only true scoring threat on the team = one of the biggest problems?
