I don't see why Montreal would trade Ryder. Also what makes Kulemin, Stafford or Johansson top 6 forwards that would improve this team? None of them are upgrades on what we already have.
In regards to Ryder, it was just a personal opinion of mine. The amount of forward depth on that team is just ridiculous when players like Gallagher, Eller, Gally and all those other players stepping up.
Not sure about lines but a healthy line-up is something like this:
Pacioretty - Plekanec - Gionta
Ryder - Desharnais - Gallagher
Galchenyuk - Eller - Bourque
Moen - White - Prust
Armstrong
He just seems the most expendable... And I want him on this team
Stafford hasn't been good this year but he's a big forward that knows how to put the puck in the net when he's on.
Johansson is an awesome playmaker, something this team seriously needs. Kulemin... Well I feel he'd come cheaper and add some middle six scoring depth.
These are players who aren't doing too well and may come cheap.

Montreal JUST acquired Ryder so I don't see him being expendable at all.
Stafford is the best of the group that I singled out, but I still don't see him being an upgrade here. I think we would be as frustrated with him as we have been with Booth.
Johansson has been garbage this year. He doubled his point total last night.
We don't need middle six scoring depth. We need another high end scorer.

Stafford is no better than Booth and hits as frequently as Maso Raymond.

He was better last year but it's his skillset and his performance last year that you're banking on. He can also play C/W and that's one thing AV would love; line flexibility.
We all want a high end scorer but who and what's the price?
I wonder if Dany Heatley could end up being a compliance buy-out for the Wild in the summer? $7.5M cap hit and he's playing like a $2M winger. His cash salary is only $5M next year and he's a UFA after next season so it wouldn't be a huge cheque to write. I'd be interested in him at $2-2.5M assuming interest in him is low around the league (although I wouldn't at all be surprised by some team being suckered into giving him a $5M contract).

If MG plans on tooling up or burning it down, I hope he starts it off tomorrow morning. This team needs a serious kick in the pants. This is getting embarrassing.

No, it'll be no changes, no changes, no changes, saying the team is fine etc etc... it'll all be fine.
One thing I will say is, we have the core pieces to be good. It's the support pieces that are missing. Malhotra, Torres, Samuelsson, Ehrhoff... Any one of these guys seem replaceable, but collectively they were excellent support players to our core. We brought in new players who on paper should be as good, but for whatever reason they don't seem to be. We need a bit of a re-tool this offseason, I'm hoping Gillis has the know how to get it done. He advocated bold moves when coming to Vancouver, we're in need of one.
We need a RH PMD to play in our top 6. I'm not sure who, but we need this. We need a 3rd line center to replace Malhotra, somebody good... Not another Pahlsson. Then, we need some new role players and a good RW that can slot into the top 6. If we get this, I expect this season to be more of a speed bump. We've seen good teams have a bum season, re-tool, and come back hard the season after. We have the pieces to do this.
That's the type of deal that could've gotten the Canucks Nash prior to this season rather than Gaborik.
There's nobody in the whole league that will give up those type of assets for Gaborik. You know what Heatley got traded for? Yeah, you'll be getting that type of a return.
He's better than that but he's not going to get anywhere near a Nash return.
