I've been following the Dub for the first time really this year, and was not expecting Portland to be so inconsistent in the playoffs. How did Everett without Murray get 2 wins from Portland?

I suppose no team is perfect

I'll give you an Everett perspective.

Honestly, it's hard to say. I think the majority is goaltending, when Lotz plays well he can steal a game or two, and with the minimal amount of shots that Carruth takes, he lets in a lot of softies and doesn't make any big saves. Going forward I would be really concerned about the reliability of goaltending in the back end for Portland, even in their wins it's been shaky.
Portland also has been having a real hard time creating any offense outside of the power play. It looks like they're scoring in bunches, which they have in some games, but most of their early goals are on the power play, and many of their strength goals have been scored in garbage time. Their power play is lethal, but they seem to struggle getting results at even strength, even when they dictate the pace of the game like they have in every game this series. Getting outscored 4-1 and 3-0 at even strength in their losses, to a team with little to no offensive talent is staggering. Even their 7-3 win is inflated by their 3/5 power play to Everett's 0/2.

Saying that, I didn't expect us to take any games off of Portland, let alone two on the road. We only won one game against Portland all season.

The Royals have also forced Game 6 against the Blazers, lots of upsets this year.

It's too bad I'm Up Island and can't get tickets for tomorrow night, I'm excited to listen to the game regardless.

Its gonna be a tough series for the hat, but if they played like they did against sask then this will be very interesting.

IMO it was more Saskatoon crapping the bed, than MH being 'great'. I think Oil Kings got this in 5-6 games.

Give Cam Lanigan credit, because he shut the door when he was called to. No doubt the blades deserve lots of blame, but i think the tigers played some great hockey during those 4 games. Edmonton cant take them lightly.

I only watched two game of that series and he was good no doubt, but Blades had the offensive power to beat him.

Also Oil King fans, Cheek just signed a deal with Colorado. Great to see Trevor who seems like a great guy get signed.

Kamloops puts away Victoria 6-2 and wins the series in 6. As does Portland, in 6. So now we're just waiting on the Kelowna, Seattle series. West almost set. Portland VS. Kelowna/or/Seattle. Spokane VS. Kamloops.

No

If Seattle wins,

Portland/Seattle
Kamloops/Spokane

If Kelowna comes back and wins,

Portland/Spokane
Kelowna/Kamloops

Does anyone know if the WHL live broadcast on http://whl.neulion.com/whl/ is worthwhile? Do they have high quality streaming or is it like some crappy free NHL streaming? I'd like to watch the Kelowna-Seattle game today. Thanks for your help!

All depends what your expecting and what building the streaming is in. I have use the service lots and It is decent in some places and crap in others.

Keep in mind that the video you will see is just the in-house video feed that is fed to the big screen in the building. Unless of course that building doesn't have a screen, then it is usually a static camera following the play. Im not sure how the feed is in seattle, but the feeds are usually quite good for the larger teams (vancouver, edmonton, calgary) I like Kamloops and Kelowna's feeds too.

Honestly, it is only 8 bucks, just try it and if you dont like it, dont do it again.

The Thunderbirds are going to be kicking themselves for the way they defended (or lack there of) in the 1st period of Game 6. All 3 Rockets goals were on awful defensive lapses (including the first just 22 seconds into the game). For about 8 minutes Seattle finally started getting a forecheck that led directly to all 3 Tbirds goals off turnovers by the Rockets D. But then they gave back the lead and were tied after 1.

After the 1st the story was Brandon Glover who made save after save to keep Seattle in it. He had at least a dozen highlight reel saves (those 59 shots weren't from the perimeter).

I had no problem with the major on Hickman. From my angle it was an obvious check straight to the head (couldn't tell if he got his elbow up). Exactly what they are trying to get out of the game.

On the other hand thought Bell deserved at least a double minor if not 5 for his hit on Hauf. I don't think either ref really saw what happened as the puck had moved around the boards as Bell hit Hauf behind the play. If Hauf wasn't so big and able to get up, pretty sure it would have been more (and possibly Bell not on the ice in overtime). Konowalchuk was visibly upset with the call not that I blame him.

5 minutes into overtime Seattle almost won it. Luke Lockhart surprised Cooke by shooting straight off the faceoff, but it hit the post and stayed out. Later on the rush Bell picked top corner to send it Game 7. Nice shot by Bell (though like I said, not sure he should have been on the ice for overtime).

Biggest problem for Seattle is their best player hasn't been at his best this series and Seattle needs be firing on all cylinders to take the series. Hopefully they can pull one more out in Kelowna.

How has Derrick Pouliot been playing for Portland so far in the play-offs?
